NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139has arrived and the reviews are pouring in. There has been a lot of excitement leading up to the release ofNieR Replicant, and thus far the remaster has been received well. The game is seen as a title that is imperfect as a whole, but one that fixes many of the flaws of the originalNieR,and one that is well worth the 60+ hours of JRPG fun and additional new content.
The originalNieRreleased back in 2010 to much praise, and the JRPG has since become a cult classic in the eyes of many. The follow-up titleNieR Automatais the game that helped the series find some needed limelight, so thisNieR Replicantremaster now has the opportunity to get in the hands of more players. The reviews so far are showing that many are enjoying the game, and in celebration of the release of the remaster,Square Enix has even opened up aNieR ReplicantCafe.

Along with being a remaster that will keep players entertained for hours on end,NieR Replicantalso gives players bonus content, new missions, a new ending, and more. This is part of what critics are enjoying with the game thus far; the new additions are very much appreciated.
NieR Replicantis a game that artistically is extremely impressive, according to many who have been able to get their hands on the game. While technically it may not be able to go toe-to-toe against the top games of the generation, the art, visuals, music, sound effects, voice acting, and more are very impressive and helpNieR Replicantstand apart. It is part of the reason fans loved the game years ago and createdNieRartwork leading up to the launch.
The timing forNieR Replicantis quite nice, asNieR Automatajust hit a massive sales milestone. The Square Enix action-RPG hit 5.5 million copies sold right as it reached four years old, a rather impressive number. It is likely that the series will continue to build on the triumph ofNieR Automataand the numbers thatNieR Replicantmay provide as well. If the reviews are an indication of anything, players will appreciate the game, and new fans may be created as well. Right now, the remaster is only available on previous generation consoles (PS4, and Xbox One), as well as PC. But perhaps the game will find its way to next-gen tech as well sometime in the near future.

“NieR Replicant overall is a successful remaster, with a bit of spit and polish improving many facets of the original game, but with some of the negatives unfortunately carrying over as well. The end result is an action RPG that will keep most players entertained for many hours, as the story, combat, and characters outweigh the boredom of Replicant’s sometimes repetitive gameplay.”

“When I wrapped up my experience with Nier Replicant, I realized it was the most satisfied I’d ever felt after working so hard for a particular ending. Yoko Taro asking me to relive the same experiences again and again wasn’t a repetitive journey, but a more meaningful reflection on a cycle of hate, pain, and trauma. Nier Replicant is Yoko Taro’s best work, brought up to modern standards, and finally delivered in the presentation its tale always deserved.”

“There aren’t many games like NieR Replicant, and I’m not just talking about in the modern era, but since 2010 as a whole. Whatever power that be helped Yoko Taro become world-famous, to the point where he can keep making these weird masterpieces, in any format: thank you.”

IGN(Mitchell Saltzman)
“As a “Version Up” of the original Nier, Replicant Ver. 1.22 does a respectable job of updating the graphics and combat of the 2010 cult classic to a more modern standard by dramatically improving its environments, animations, and performance, while also going the extra mile and adding excellent voice acting to every single character in its world. It definitely shows its age in its combat and quest design, however, and while the improvements to combat certainly help smooth things out it still suffers from repetitive enemies, mundane sidequests, and a lack of evolution over the course of the 35 to 40-hour adventure you’ll need to complete to see all the endings. Just push through it and get to what’s truly excellent about Nier Replicant: its story and characters, both of which are still among the strongest I’ve seen in the genre.”

“NieR Replicant’s upgrades put it nearly on par with NieR: Automata, and while it doesn’t live up to the tight package Automata provided, it’s a great addition for anyone who missed it the first time around.”

“Taro is clearly fixed on the power of lost time. More than a decade on from the original release of Nier Replicant, he’s asking us to take a second look.”
