TheNieR: Automata Ver1.1awill premiere next week and finally fans of this highly-acclaimed video game get to see the kind of action 2B and 9S will be getting themselves into in the show.
Despite being announced in February of this year, announcements concerningNier: Automata Ver1.1ahave been sparse, at least until these past couple of weeks the series was given its official Jun 16, 2025 release date and the first piece of footage that extends past being a cryptic teaser.NieR: Automata’sanime adaptation is a work made by animation studio A-1 Pictures and produced by Aniplex, though the most important aspect for those who fell in love with the games is that franchise director Yoko Taro will also co-write it along with Ryouji Masuyama.

The new trailer, coded Promotion File 008 was uploaded to YouTube by Aniplex and some of the scenes featured in int will already have many gamers looking back at the first time they playedNier: Automatasince it takes some scenes from the game’s opening mission. InNieR: Automata’sfirst Chapter, 2B fights off the massive Goliath boss before eventually the two YoRHa androids recreate the black box reaction with that very famous shot of the pair triggering the cubes’ explosion.
This isn’t the only thing that’s copied straight fromNieR: Automatathe preview also shows 2B and 9S aboard their flight units and doing away with the same type of robots they face in Chapter 1. Of course,NieR: Automata fans shouldn’t expect a one-to-one recreationof the events that unfold in the games as Taro himself has said some story elements will be changed in a tile that’s already famous for its 26 different endings.
Similarly, music forNieR: Automata Ver1.1awill be handled by Monaca, the studio owned by one of the game’s leading composers, Keichi Okabe, hence why it’s easy to pick up the same kind of melodies already stamping their mark on the credits and some will beexpecting an amazing anime opening theme song. Besides that, since the series still lacks dubbed audio,those watching the anime on Crunchyrollwill be glad to hear both Yui Ishikawa and Natsuki Hana have come back to play their voice acting roles as 2B and 9s, so alreadyNieR: Automatais doing a lot of things right.
