With the arrival of the newest update toWorld of Warcraft, a player discovered the key to obtaining a new collectible item inEmbers of Neltharionlay deep within the game’s history. After putting the pieces together, the player was able to obtain the new collectible and shared why one particular piece from an old era ofWorld of Warcraftwas a clever use of tying the game’s lore to something that has become relevant again.
InEmbers of Neltharion, the remaining Primal Incarnates have opened the way to the underground of the Dragon Isles in search of powerful artifacts left behind by dragon aspect Neltharion, who would later become Deathwing. In the wake of the Incarnates' destruction, players are left free todelve into the Zaralek Cavernsystem to see what secrets are lying around. Beneath the stones and the flames of the new zone, one player has uncovered howWorld of Warcraftplayers can obtain a new collectible by going back to the game’s beginning.

AWorld of Warcraftplayer known as Ribs, a Troll Druid from the Zul’jin server, discovered the means to obtain a new toy called the Blazing Shadowflame Cinder. When used, the toy grants the player a cosmetic glow of purple and orange flames for 10 minutes, but can only be used once per 15 minutes. While this discovery may not beas extensive as a legendary weapon, players can obtain the Blazing Shadowflame Cinder by heading to the western side of the Zaralek Cavern and locating a treasure chest at the Zaqali Caldera. But, the chest is covered in Shadowflame, with purple flames that burn through anything that comes near them. However, players that equip an Onyxia Scale Cloak will be protected from the Shadowflame, allowing them to loot the chest and claim the toy.
True to its name, the Onyxia Scale Cloak is made fromthe scales of the black dragon Onyxia, the daughter of Deathwing and one of the first raid bosses from theWorld of Warcraft: Classicera. The cloak can be made by leatherworkers that have the recipe and are provided with a piece of Runic Thread, a Scale of Onyxia, and a Cindercloth Cloak. Each of these items can easily be obtained by taking down Onyxia as well as through the auction house and NPC vendors located in various cities.
While the Blazing Shadowflame Cinder serves as a reminder ofWorld of Warcraft’s history, the element of Shadowflame will play a major role in the story ofEmbers of Neltharion. Only time will tell what other secrets will beuncovered in futureDragonflightcontentupdates, and how they may tie back to the game’s past.
