With bothThe WitcherandMonster Hunter Worldsettings having an issue with an overpopulation of monsters that harass and eat humans, it seemed like a simple thing to transportGeralt of Rivia and Ciri to theMonster Huntersetting. The protagonists ofThe Witcherbooks and games were given their own quest line in a free crossover event that took place in 2019. However, some were disappointed that it was only Geralt, Ciri, and a handful of other monsters fromThe Witchermade their way to theMonster Hunteruniverse.
WhileMonster Hunter Worldis no longer the latest game in the franchise, as of therelease ofMonster Hunter Riseback in 2021, it still proves to be a popular game for fans of the series and modders. WithMonster Hunter Worldmods allowing great changes to weapons, playable characters, and more, it seemed only a matter of time before one player decided to bring some other major characters fromThe Witcheruniverse in to support the monster hunt.

Yennefer and Triss are two of the most well-known sorceresses fromThe Witcherbooks and games, with both characters also appearing inThe WitcherTV series. In the games, Triss is the more prominent character, while Yennefer only appears in the third game. However, both Yennefer and Triss are tworomance options for the player inThe Witcher 3,and the rivalry between the two has led fans into heated debates on which sorceress is better for years.
Unlike inThe Witcher 3though,Monster Hunter Worldplayers won’t have to worry about which sorceress' heart they’ll break. Instead, the mod actually allows forMonster Hunter Worldplayers to play as either Triss or Yennefer, with the models of the characters replacing certain armor sets. Triss replaces the Commission and Rot armor, while Yennefer replaces the Brigade armor. Both Triss' base game and DLC outfit make their way toMonster Hunter, though through screenshots it appears only Yennefer’s DLC outfit is available in the mod.
Changing playable character options through modding is nothing new toMonster Hunter World. Previously, there have been mods that have allowed the player to become anything fromNier Automata’s2B toSimba fromThe Lion King.The Witchergames have also been known for an active modding community, withThe Witcher 3mods helping to keep the game active among fans even seven years after it initially launched.
