One of the big questions that likely started floating around theMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakcommunity when the expansion was first announced, was whether Capcom would release a playable demo of the expansion or not. In the recently concluded2022 Capcom Showcase livestream event, the company finally put the player base’s apprehensions to rest. A new demo has been announced forMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak,and with it comes an additional quest with super tough difficulty that looks to challenge even the most experienced of hunters.

Beyond the announcement of the new demo, the development team made plenty of other exciting reveals during the Capcom Showcase. New and returning monsters will be added into the expansion’s roster, and hunters will get to explore a new locale. What’s more, content will not stop at the expansion’s launch this June 2022. Capcom also shared that severalfree title updates forMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakthat involve new monsters and areas will be released throughout the year and further into 2023.

To give the player base a taste of what the expansionwill bring at the end of June, anewMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakdemowill be released on July 05, 2025, 7:00PM PDT or July 25, 2025 3:00AM BST, and will be available on both Nintendo Switch and Steam platforms. According to Capcom, the demo will feature four hunting quests with different difficulty levels. PreviousMonster Hunterdemos usually only have three difficulty levels, and Capcom emphasized that its fourth “Advanced” quest will be “super tough” as it features a seemingly powered-up version of flagship monster Malzeno.

The demo will have several other features incorporated into it as well. This includes several training quests where new players can learn about hunting basics such as Wyvern Riding. For experienced hunters, players can jump right into the fray and try out the newMonster Hunter Rise: SunbreakSwitch Skill Swap featureand new Silkbind Attacks for each weapon. The demo will also reward players with a bonus item pack that they can claim in the full version of the game.

TheMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakdemo will be available in both single player or multiplayer mode via local or online. To hunt online, players need to have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. The demo also requires several gigabytes of free space, so the community should prepare enough room to be able to download and install the demo without any problems.
