Earlier today, founding member of Media Molecule, Alex Evans, decided to leave the development studio in pursuit of other career opportunities unrelated to game development. Evans goes on to explain that this decision was made during of period of “soul searching” while under lockdown. Evans served as technical director ofthe secondLittleBigPlanetgame.

Evans accomplished a lot at Media Molecule and was directly involved with the development ofDreams. While his departure is rather unexpected, he wished the team at Media Molecule the best of luck and went on to say that the studio is working on big things forDreams. This could be in reference to theVR compatibility that will soon be added toDreams.

It is sad to see such an important member of a prominent game studio step down, but that doesn’t mean the work has to stop. As Evans goes on to say, he is now aDreamsfan, instead of aDreamsdeveloper. Regardless, it seems like both the studio andDreamswill continue to gain further popularity and success, such asMedia Molecule winning a game of the year award forDreams.

In any case, it will be exciting to see what else Media Molecule has in store for the multitude of users populating the world ofDreams. In fact, there are also talks ofMedia Molecule considering a PC port ofDreams. If these rumors prove to be true, then this will give all sorts of people the opportunity to experience all thatDreamsand Media Molecule have to offer. With any luck, these rumors will actually hold water and allow more players to enjoy the game.
