Funko Pop collectors have no shortage of vinyl figures to choose from, as a plethora of movie andvideo game characters, celebrity superstars, and even cereal mascots get made into the big-headed collectibles. And now collectors and fast-food super fans have a chance to add five new Funko Pops to their collections with the McDonald’s mascots releasing later this year.
Funko has endless possibilities when it comes to producing new Pops!. The super-popular line of collectibles can seemingly partner with any show, movie, and even company that wouldn’t normally have collectibles. The vinyl line now consists of figures that resemble the Peeps marshmallow bunnies, cereal mascots such as Tucan Sam and Tony the Tiger, and, of course, a Funko Pop from the hit movieSharknadothat is a shark wrapped in a tornado. More traditionally, Funko has Pops! for just about every Marvel and DC Character imaginable, plus tons of video game characters to choose from including a line ofHalo Infinitefiguresrumored to be coming soon.

Now the collectible giant has partnered with a giant in the fast-food industry, as Funko is officially producing McDonald’s mascot Pops!. The line of McDonald’s Pops! will include Ronald McDonald, the now-friendly purple giant Grimace, The Hamburgler, and the two hamburger headed characters Mayor McCheese and Officer Mac.
The five Pops! are available to pre-order on Amazon now but fast-fingered collectors were able to get their hands on the exclusive five-pack. TheMcDonald’sonline store, Golden Arches, offered a box that contained all five mascots as well as a rare Golden Arches sticker slapped on the box. However, the five-pack went up on the store Friday morning and sold out quickly.
Funko collectors are no stranger to items selling out instantly or experiencing issues getting their hands on exclusive Pops!. Typically, there are plenty of exclusives to look forward to at Comic-Con and other trade shows, but this year all those events are digital due to the coronavirus pandemic. Comic-Con at Home was held recently and Funko kept the tradition of exclusive Pops! alive and sold them online. However, the mass rush of collectors to Funko’s website to order the exclusive Pops! proved troublesome for many andleft plenty of Funko collectors and fans empty-handed.
Other properties and new figures aren’t the only way Funko has been branching out. The company jumped into the video game industry with the 2019 mobile and PC game,Gears Pop!. ThisGears of Warspinoff is much cuter than the previous entries in the series. Each character has been designed after the classic Pop! look of having a giant head compared to the character’s body as well as big eyes and no visible mouth.
