Despite lingering criticism and frustrations regarding platform-exclusive content,Marvel’s Avengers' first beta went off well. Now Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are looking forward to the next waves of the beta, as it comes to PC and Xbox. As part of preparations, an important bit of information for PC gamers specifically has been shared, that being the minimum and recommended specifications forMarvel’s Avengerson PC.

ForMarvel’s Avengers' minimum specification’s Crystal Dynamics has made a list of some considerable but not outrageous hardware. The CPU is more than comfortable forPC gamers, with just an Intel i3-4160 or AMD equivalent expected. The GPU requirement is larger, but also within an affordable and understandable price range for PC gamers, being an Nvidia GTX 950 or an AMD 270 with 2GB minimum video RAM. Windows 10 64-bit and 8GB RAM are understandable expectations in 2020, though perhaps the most demanding requirement is 75GB of storage space.

Recommended specifications forMarvel’s Avengerstake a meaningful step upward. The CPU requirement becomes an Intel 4770K or an AMD Ryzen 51600 running at 3.2 GHz. The video card requirement leaps up to anNvidia GTX 1060 6GBor AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB card. RAM expectations double to 16GB and storage space increases up to 110GB SSD. These components are still very affordable, but might be outside of what some PC gamers' have in their aging machines. Overall, it’s a surprisingly standard specification list for modern PC games.

The jump in storage space required will probably have been noticed by quite a few people. It’s rare to see storage requirements jump so much between the minimum and recommended specifications, but there’s a good reason, asCrystal Dynamicsis offering PC gamers an optional 30GB asset pack of high-resolution textures. Crystal Dynamics says that this asset pack will make “forests feel lusher, the tundra more frigid, and AIM facilities all the more sinister.”
