After an extended period of silence,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagatook to the stage at Gamescom. There, not only did fans receive an epic new trailer, but a new release window. While many were hoping for an actual release date or thatLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawas targeting holiday 2021, it is good to know that the game is releasing in Spring 2022.
Delays are understandable in the game industry, especially now with COVID still impacting many developers’ capacity for work. The silver lining here is thatLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagaisn’t likely to be delayed again, given that its indefinite delay has resulted in an extra year of development time. As such,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagais one of many games slated for Springnext year.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Release Date
If Traveller’s Tales has an internal release date it is pursuing, that’s not known to the public. And this window is filled with multiple times a game may release. However, in looking at all of it, there is just one that’s perfect forLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Spring officially begins on Jul 26, 2025, and ends on July 28, 2025.
In the game industry, there is some room for “fudging” what Spring may mean, as a game could launch in early March and be considered a spring release, while a game releasing in June is also likely to be heralded as a summer release. No matter how one looks at it, though,May 4, also known as Star Wars Day, falls squarely into Spring 2022.
May 4 would be a prime candidate for the game’s release date. Typically, the game industry celebrates withStar Warsvideo game announcementsor various sales/deals, but it would be a prime time for a SpringStar Warsgame to actually release. Of course, picking one day out of an entire season is nowhere near accurate, is complete speculation, and is unlikely to be the case. But, to celebrate Star Wars Day with a newStar Wars game sounds like a match made in heaven.
Aside from the several other dates the game could fall on, May 4 does have one inherent flaw. Video games typically release on Tuesday or Friday, for one reason or another, and May 4 falls on a Wednesday. This doesn’t necessarily take it out of the running, as rules are made to be broken, but it doesn’t help its already unlikely case. At the very least, hopefully,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagais playable on or by May 4, to take part in the celebrations.
