There’s a joke among the community about howThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimhas been released on just about every possible system that can run it. There was even a rudimentary port to the Amazon Echo, which was unveiled a few years ago. WithBethesda releasing the Anniversary Edition at the end of 2021, there was seemingly no end to the epic RPG being pushed out to more and more devices. However, this re-release was not launched for the Switch, but there is a suggestion that it will be coming eventually.

According to a screenshot taken by Switch Brasil, it’s possible thatSkyrimAnniversary Edition will be getting ported to the hybrid console. The image captured shows that the game has reportedly been rated by the Taiwanese game rating board. However, the listing has since been removed for whatever reason, so the only piece of evidence to go off is the leaked screenshot. Given that, it’s best to take the information with a grain of salt.

It would be remiss of Bethesda not to release this latest version of the game for the Switch, seeing as the Special Edition and original 2011 release are currently available on the Nintendo console. The Anniversary Edition comes with some additional content and features. As well as 500 Creation Club mods, players can alsogo fishing inSkyrimfor the first time. Some might question just how much the studio can keep getting away with releasing the same game over and over, but it’s still proving to be one of the biggest releases on the current market.

It’s alsoone of the best open world games out there, stacking up alongside the likes ofGTA 5,Breath of the Wild, andMinecraft. There will no doubt be Switch owners who would love to be able to play the Anniversary Edition, and while there’s no confirmation on whether a port is coming, it would be a bit of a surprise to many if it didn’t happen.

Alongside that, many are still waiting fornews onThe Elder Scrolls 6. WithSkyrimbeing more than ten years old at this stage, fans are starting to get a little impatient about when the next installment will arrive. Whether it will have the legacy of the fifth entry in the franchise remains to be seen. But for now, Bethesda may keep pumping out the 2011 release, seemingly until the next game finally emerges.
