Riddler Khu is a trusted leaker within thePokemoncommunity, having time and again been proven right about information in games likePokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, andPokemon Scarlet and Violet. For example, Khu teased the starters ahead of their reveal, hinted at several key Pokemon and the region gimmick during the marketing cycle, and more. The catch is Riddler Khu is hardly ever direct, instead relying on the titular riddles to tease fans, and now they’ve turned their eye onPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC.Pokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC has not been officially announced yet, but givenPokemon Sword and Shield’s season pass, the in-game hints at it, and the massive sales success, it only seems like a matter of time. There’s been plenty of fan speculation about it, potentially even supported by Khu’s latest on the matter.RELATED:There Are Still 25 Pokemon Trapped in Pokemon Home After Scarlet and VioletOn November 3, Riddler Khu tweeted out an image showing various gimmicks in thePokemonfranchise: Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing, andTerastallization. They asked fans which of these were different, with many concluding that it was Mega Evolution because it is the only one to take place beyond just one region (Kalos and Hoenn). The remaining are limited to one region and/or caused specifically within that region (such as Eternatus and Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing). They recently followed up this tweet on November 27, adding that this image was a DLC hint and when asked the answer, Khu responded “Mega.”
The implication here, as deduced by many long-standing Khu followers, is thatMega Evolution may return inPokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC. This is supported by longstanding speculation that fans could return to Kalos fromPokemon X and Y.There are plenty of hints, but the most important is that Kalos is based on France and Paldea is based on Spain and Portugal. In the real world, these countries are side by side, and the map of the Paldea region has an area that could easily lead to Kalos. If this proves true and fans travel to Kalos or a section related to Kalos, it’ll be the first two regions to appear in a game in quite some time.
However, it could be that Khu means something else, especially since they are being so direct here. Returning to Kalos and bringing back Mega Evolution, the most popular generation gimmick thus far, would no doubt be a popular move. Mega Evolution and Terastallization could exist side by side, though it’s unlikely Pokemon could do both. Perhaps fans can catch Pokemon in this possiblePokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC area that can Mega Evolve but not Terrastallize, but at this time, fans will just have to wait and see what Game Freak has in store.
