Some of these worlds outshine the rest with their great mechanics or detail to the story that go above and beyond what some would expect. So, we take a look into some of the best worlds that the games have had to offer over the years and what made them so great.

10The Grid

The Grid comes fromKingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.For those who don’t remember, this world is a continuation of what happened inKingdom Hearts 2with Space Paranoids. In this world, Tron has been captured by CLU and his source code has been changed into a malevolent one that destroys other programs.

Sora must retrieveTron’s source codeand reset Tron back to how he was before CLU took over. This whole area is aesthetically pleasing with the virtual style that comes straight fromTron: Legacy. You also have the added treat of being able to enter the Light Cycle Arena which is always cool.

9Wonderland

Wonderlandis a fantastic and magical area that comes straight from the originalKingdom Hearts. In this world, Alice is on trial and you must find evidence that proves she isn’t guilty.

All of the fun and lovable characters are in this world like the Cheshire Cat who is always a delight. From the very beginning when you fall down the rabbit hole and must deal with the changing sizes, this world shows that it is different from all of the others. The only bad part about this world is the boss battle at the end that should have been edited more.

8100 Acre Wood

Deep in the hundred-acre woods, you will find Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends. This world has been a staple of theKingdom Heartsgames and its relaxing nature is always a treasure. Throughout the games, the pages of Winnie the Pooh’s book are scattered about the othervarious worldsthat you visit and you must collect them to unlock the full world.

The world itself also changes things up with the main issues being resolved with various minigames that really change the pace of the games in a good way. It’s no longer about defeating enemies but making the animals of the world happy.

7Timeless River

Speaking of pace-changing areas, Timeless River is another world that really alters the way thatKingdom Heartsis played. This world appears inKingdom Hearts 2and takes everyone back to the more questionable times when Mickey Mouse first started.

This area has you going into different minigame-style areas helping out Mickey as he gets into trouble with the heartless. The monochromatic styling and fun nature of this world even when everything is pretty dire are some things that makes this world so great.

6Halloween Town

This is one of the worlds from the originalKingdom Heartsthat got brought back intoKingdom Hearts 2and is based on the hit filmThe Nightmare Before Christmasby Tim Burton. This world really sets the tone when you come in as being a darker and scarier area.

Sora,Donald, and Goofy get a complete makeover to fit the theme of the world as well. The final boss fights in both games are a spectacle with fighting Oogie Boogie. Plus, you get the benefit of going to Christmas Town inKingdom Hearts 2.

5Monstropolis

Monstropolis is another great world added toKingdom Hearts 3and another world filled with nostalgia for any Pixar fan. The story of this world is based on clearing out the Unversed that have appeared and reclaim the scare factory.

There is a childish appeal to it as well when seeing Boo again, up to her usual antics. Seeing new areas of the scare factory are also a plus for anyone who is a fan of the movies. Now if only they would addWall-Eto the list ofPixar worlds.

Twilight Town first appeared inKingdom Hearts: Chain of Memoriesand is the home ofRoxas and his friends.This world always offers something essential to the story of the game it’s in and always has plenty going on.

3Pride Lands

The Pride Lands is one of the most memorable worlds in all of theKingdom Heartsgames and one with the biggest transformation. When in this world, Sora is reimagined as a lion to help him blend in.

The story ofKingdom Hearts 2follows the movie for the most part with the gang needing to find Simba who is presumed dead and to bring him back to fight Scar. This world is possibly one of the biggest in the entire series which is great for the aesthetic.

2The Land Of Dragons

This world is a reimagining of one of Disney’s most famous movies,Mulan. This world follows the story of the movie and you must help Mulan defeat Shan Yu.

This world has one of the biggest battle settings at the top of the snowy mountains which really helps make the world feel more complete. You also get to travel to the royal palace and fight Shan Yu head-on. This world is a favorite for many fans.

1Toy Box

Possibly the best world in all of theKingdom Heartsgames is the Toy Box. This world takes Sora and company to the world ofToy Storyand changes them into toys to fit the style.

In this world, Andy has gone missing and you must help Buzz Lightyear and Woody find out what happened. You traverse the world of Al’s Toy Barn and use toy mechs to fight the heartless. This world also has a great minigame that you can play based on anime. This world brings back all the nostalgia of childhood.
