Reddit user theoneandonlybiscuit decided to make a complete list ofXbox One gamesfeatured on Games with Gold. It does not include Xbox 360 games, which theoneandonlybiscuit listed in a previous post. There are 222 in all, starting withHalo: Spartan AssaultandMax: The Curse of Brotherhoodfrom June 2014 and ending withBlue FireandInertial Drift, which hit the service next month.

The list is an interesting mix of mostly indie games with a few AAA titles thrown in. The sheer number of Xbox One Games with Gold titles makes it hard to discuss them all, but there are a few interesting standouts. For example, as theoneandonlybiscuit notes, 2017’sSlime Rancherwas the only Xbox One title to be featured on Games With Gold at launch.

The first game on the list,Halo: Spartan Assault, is a top-down twin-stick shooter initially released on the Windows Phone alongside its console launch. Meanwhile, its partner,Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, is a physics-based puzzle platformer that sees the titular character trying to rescue his annoying little brother from monsters. They were followed by the famous luchador Metroidvania platformerGuacamelee!andCrimson Dragon, a Kinect-only rail shooter inspired byPanzer Dragoon.

2015 was a solid year for games with Gold, featuring titles likeD4,Rayman Legends,Child of Light,Massive Chalice,Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag,MGS 5: Ground Zeros,Tomb Raider (2014),Valiant Hearts, andThe Walking Dead. Notable 2016 games includedLords of the Fallen,Wolf Among Us,Goat Simulator,The Banner Saga 2,Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China,Murdered: Soul Suspect,Sleeping Dogs, andOutlast. Major games from later years includeSuperhot,Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate,MGS 5: Phantom Pain,Gears of War 4andGears of War 5,Dead Rising,The Styx Games, andtheResident Evilremake.

As for thefinal free Xbox Games with Gold,Blue Fireis a 2021 action platformer with mixed reviews. Meanwhile,Inertial Driftis a 2020 racing game and the best-reviewed of the two. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely the games would be as noteworthy if they weren’t the last free Games with Gold titles ever.
