Back in the ’90s when theconsole warsreally started to heat up, exclusive games were very common with Nintendo being one of the worst offenders in this regard with classic titles such asThe Legend Of ZeldaandSuper Marionever seeing the inside of another console.
However, times have changed and fans are less tribal about their consoles. The PC has also become one of the most accessible devices for gaming, with a lot of titles having been ported for fans to enjoy. Unfortunately, some great games with awesome potential, haven’t had the same treatment leaving fans frustrated.

TheLost Planetseries ismade by Capcomand is similar to the recentExoprimalin a number of ways.Lost Planet 2which was a sequel was initially released in 2010 and was even placed on Steam for a while.
However, the game was removed from PC in 2021 and has not returned since prompting players to complain bitterly about the unfairness of it all. WhileLost Planettechnically received a PC port, the fact that it is yet another victim of Games for Windows Live, and its cult status within the community makes it a viable option to talk about.

MadWorld
Get ready to fight for your life in MadWorld, where your chainsaw is your best (and only) friend. Jack is just an everyday citizen, who gets dropped headfirst into the terror of Death Watch, a brutal game created by a bunch of vindictive terrorists, known only as ‘The Organisation’. On the streets of Varrigan City, there is no choice – attack first, think later.Jack’s number one priority is to stay alive, but in order for this to become a long-term option, he must battle his way to the nerve-centre of The Organisation and uncover the real motive behind this modern-day gladiator’s arena. Along the way he’ll face the pressure of gruesomely hilarious mini-games that will push him to his limits and confront monstrous bosses, for whom mercy isn’t an option.Always over-the-top and outrageously funny, MadWorld features eye-popping graphics that suck you into the maelstrom of madness and leave you begging for more. Think of a slick monochromatic graphic novel, transport it to an interactive 3D world, add a riot of sound and a huge weapons collection, and you’re just about there. No object is without its bone-splintering possibilities: street signs, dumpsters, tyres – your survival will depend on being inventive and ruthless in equal measure.
Madworldwas inexplicably released for the Wii and considering its gory material, this was surprising for Nintendo. Released in 2010 and developed by PlatinumGames who went on to developBayonettaandNier Automata,Madworldwas set on a deserted island known as Jefferson where dangerous individuals hack each other to death for the entertainment of the audience.

As mentioned earlier it was released for the Wii, but strangely, never got any other port and has remained a Wii exclusive. There have been no sequels, and enough time has passed for the possibility of a remaster, yet fans wait hopelessly.
If you ask a fighting game fan the three most influentialfighting games from Capcom, they’d sayStreet Fighter 2,Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, andMarvel vs. Capcom 2. WhileStreet Fighter 2 and Third Strikehave seen PC ports with theStreet Fighter Anniversaryedition,MVC2hasn’t gotten the PC treatment.

It is speculated that Marvel and Capcom have been unable to agree on anything, and as more and more fighting games (both old and new) come to the PC to thrill fans, there is ebbing hope thatMVC2, considered the best of theMarvel vs. Capcomseries, will ever debut on the PC.
Released for the PlayStation 3 back in 2009,inFAMOUSwas an action-adventure game where the player got to control Cole, a man who obtains immense power and is basically a superhero.

It was a PlayStation 3 exclusive meaning it couldn’t get any other ports, but with the likes ofGod of War,The Last Of Us, andSpiderman, all PlayStation exclusives, getting PC ports, it’s a shame thatinFAMOUShasn’t enjoyed the same privilege.
The game that kicked off a series,Silent Hill, was released on the PlayStation in 1999. Developed by Team Silent and published by Konami,Silent Hillwas one of the scariest gamesin existence.

The atmospheric horror vibe that emanated from the game made it an instant classic and from then came other classics including the much-vauntedSilent Hill 2which featured the infamous Pyramid Head enemy. While theSilent Hill 2remaster will be available on Steam, the original game is nowhere to be found save for those playing on emulators.
Fable 2is one of those games where the choices the player makes really affect gameplay and the story beats the player will encounter. The game was originally released for the Xbox 360 and developed a reputation as a great nostalgia game with great elements, poorly-aged combat, and a pretty decent story.

Sadly, for those who might want to relive their childhood experiences with the game, they’ll be sorely disappointed as it does not have a PC port. It is unknown why this is the case as there seem to be enough people who’d love to get their hands on it.
It’s fascinating to consider thatCastlevania: Symphony Of The Nightwas never intended to be part ofthe mainline series. The game sold pretty poorly initially but started to gather steam and is considered a sleeper hit going on to sell over 700,000 copies in both the United States and Japan.

While many of the otherCastlevaniatitles are available to play on Steam,Symphony Of The Nightis not. This is even with how well the game has aged and the technology available to port it.
Shadow Of The Colossuscame out in 2005 and features the player controlling a young man tasked with taking down16 huge monsters. It feels like a game that is just boss battle after boss battle.

The game is a masterpiece and fairly recently got a remaster for the PlayStation 4 by Bluepoint Games which brought the game to modern audiences with updated graphics and a few other tweaks. But, PC players are left to rue their luck as the game has never come to that platform. It remains to be seen if it ever will.
One of the greatest games from thestable of FromSoftwarewho are the makers of theDark Soulsfranchise andElden Ring. It was a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and with all FromSoftware games, features the Eldritch horror themes and punishing difficulty.

Yet,Bloodbornehas never had a PC port. This is a shame when one considers that almost all the other FromSoftware games are available on the computer, not having the one some will consider the best is sad.
Red Dead Redemptionis a masterpiece that continues to be talked about to this day. It is the second game in theRed Deadseries and the chronological sequel to the highly successfulRed Dead Redemption 2, at least for most of its story.
It is also possibly the most puzzling game not to have a PC port, with the game being released way back in 2010. Funnily enough,Red Dead 2already has a PC port and has done well in that ecosystem. There arerumors that there is aRed Dead RedemptionPC port in the works, but there has been no official confirmation. Till the day comes whenRed Dead Redemptioncan be played by all who want to, fans will have to enjoy one of the greatest games of its generation on consoles.
