Honkai: Star Railhas officially rolled out pre-installation ahead of its release, and fans can now get an idea of how big the HoYoverse space RPG will be. TheGenshin Impactdeveloper first announced the sci-fi RPGin late 2021 as a spin-off of one of the studio’s flagship games,Honkai: Impact 3rd. The game has seen multiple closed beta tests since its initial reveal with HoYoverse confirming the game for an April launch last month. Now, pre-installations have revealed the file size of the highly-anticipated RPG.
Honkai: Star Railis set to feature several departures from its HoYoverse predecessors with one of its main gameplay elements differing significantly fromGenshin ImpactandHonkai Impact 3rd.Star Railsheds the action RPG combat of the developer’s two previous games in favor of turn-based combat, featuring more strategic tactics in battle. The game boasts a similar element system to other HoYoverse RPGs with elements directly affecting characters with different strengths and weaknesses. Now, fans won’t have to wait much longer to board the Astral Express.

HoYoverse officially announced the opening of pre-installations forHonkai: Star Railon Saturday night.Honkai: Star Railplayers on PC and mobile deviceswill be able to download the game ahead of time, ready to play as soon as it officially launches later this week. PC players will need to allocate 10.12 GB of storage space for the RPG while mobile players will need just over 7 GB of storage space.Honkai: Star Railis scheduled to officially debut on April 26 for PC and mobile devices with PlayStation versions set to come at a later date.
WhileHonkai: Star Railgears up for its official release, players are already confirmed to be receiving a variety of in-game rewards from the game’s pre-registration campaign. The RPG quickly surpassed 10 million pre-registrations, smashing all of its goals for the pre-release andguaranteeingHonkai: Star Railplayers a free four-star characterfollowing its launch. The pre-registration rewards also include a bounty of “Star Rail Passes,” used as the main currency for the game’s gacha system.Star Rail’s hefty 10 million user milestone came just two weeks after pre-registrations were opened in February.
