HardcoreHarry Potterfans likely know that the Whomping Willow wasn’t planted on Hogwarts' grounds until 1971. The tree is used inHarry Potterlore to block a passage that allows one to travel secretly from Hogwarts to the Shrieking Shack, though only select individuals know how to calm the Whomping Willow down and gain entry. The Shrieking Shack was used as a sort of hideout forRemus Lupin, who needed to be somewhere secluded to deal with his werewolf transformations.

Details like this may go unnoticed by some, but it seems theHogwarts Legacywriting team is on top of these potential continuity errors. TheHarry Potterseries is no stranger to continuity problems, of course, but it seems like fans don’t really have to worry about that being a big problem in the upcomingHogwarts Legacy.
