In a tweet by PlayStation Game Size, it revealed thatHogwarts Legacywill be 79.543 GB on PlayStation 5. Pre-loading will be available on February 5 for deluxe edition purchases and on February 7 for those who purchased the base game, giving at least some time for the download to be complete before it comes out. WhileHogwarts Legacywill take up a sizable amount of the system’s storage space, especially if one has not added any other storage devices to their PlayStation 5, it is stillsmaller than a game likeForspoken, even if not by much.

Users commenting on the news have overall reacted with excitement, but the top comment was of someone asking when reviews were coming out. PlayStation Game Size responded by retweeting their post specifying that the embargo is slated to lift on February 6, meaning those who are waiting would have a few days to form a final opinion before deciding if they want to get the game on launch day. Others who are impatient however could seek out footage uploaded by anyone already playing the game sincecopies ofHogwarts Legacyhave been shipped out early, which potentially could leak details about large portions of the game.

Despite the excitement it has from many,Hogwarts Legacyhas been marred in controversyin no small part due to the transphobic comments made byHarry Pottercreator J.K. Rowling. Although the developers at Avalanche Software have attempted to distance themselves from Rowling’s views, that may not be enough for some who feel there is an inherent connection between her and theHarry PotterIP. IfHogwarts Legacyis able to overcome this hurdle in the eyes of many and is received well, it could become another successful part of the franchise.

Hogwarts Legacycomes out February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One, and July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
