On top of somenew brooms forHogwarts Legacyand other cosmetics, the biggest change with the Summer Update is the addition of a Photo Mode. The ability to take proper screenshots to capturethe beauty of the gamehas been a requested feature from day one. Now that it’s finally here, the resulting product goes above and beyond.
The update offers the usual features of a Photo Mode, such as the ability to play around with saturation, grids, and camera angles. In addition to all of this,Hogwarts Legacy’snew Photo Mode has some surprises. Players can access themed filters and borders, change their character’s pose, and even change the season to get just the shot they want. To access Photo Mode, pause the game and press whatever button or key indicated in the bottom right corner of the pause menu.
6Unique Themed Filters
Completely Change The Image
Arguably, the biggest change players can make to their screenshots in Photo Mode is to use filters to change how the image looks.Hogwarts Legacyhas the expected filters, such as black and white and sepia tone. In addition, there are also some unique surprises in the mix. For example, players might recall the aesthetic used forthe Deathly Hallows quest, and will be glad to know that they can now apply this filter to any part of the game with Photo Mode.
Among the other filters is one for each of the four Houses. There’s also a Somber filter which feels perfect for the time period, as well as Canvas and Portrait filters, which turn the image into different forms of art. By playing around with various other settings, such as contrast and vignette, players will be able to create the exact look they want.
5Character Poses

One of the best things aboutHogwarts Legacy’sPhoto Mode is that players have multiple poses to choose from for their main character. There are three poses standing, three more for sitting, four different poses that depict the character mid-fight, and finally, a taunting pose.
Players can scroll through these at leisure, changing the mood of the shot with a silly or serious pose. Of course, they might prefer to keep their character in whatever animation they were doing as the game was paused. Players can also adjust the camera angle according to the pose. For example, for the sitting poses, players will likely want to lower the camera’s height to better capture their witch or wizard.
4Remove NPCs And/Or Your Character

NPCs are great in a game likeHogwarts Legacy, as they make the world feel more real and have sometruly hilarious interactions. However, when trying to take a nice screenshot, they can also get in the way. Thankfully, Photo Mode comes with a simple option to hide all NPCs.
There is even an option to hide the main character, which can be useful when players want a completely empty picture that focuses on the scenery. Players might also want to take a screenshot of NPCs going about their day without their character in the mix, especially if they happen to be wearing one ofthe game’s best but silliest outfits.
3Change The Time Of Day
Avoid Having To Wait Around For The Perfect Hour
Before the introduction of a dedicated Photo Mode,Hogwarts Legacyplayers would have to wait for time to pass in-game if they wanted to take a screenshot at a certain time of day. Sometimes players want to wait for daylight if the darkness makes things hard to see, and at other times, players might want a touch of moonlight to set the ambiance.
Now, however, players can scroll through the 24 hours of the day in Photo Mode to find the perfect lighting and mood. As with anything done in Photo Mode, this won’t affect the state of the game, so players don’t need to worry about accidentally skipping something important.
2Change The Season
An Impressive Feature For Changing The Scenery
One of the most unexpected features of the Photo Mode inHogwarts Legacyis the ability to change the seasons with a click of a button. While many players would doubtless love the opportunity to turn back time to autumn or winter in the game itself, this is nonetheless a great option to have for Photo Mode.
The four different seasons load instantly. It is not just the terrain and trees that change, but also the decor. For example,in winter, Hogsmeade is at its most cozywith Christmas decorations.

To finish off the perfect screenshot, players can choose from the following list of borders: Classic, Ornate, Wooden, Pensieve, Veil, Floo Flames, Clouds, Parchment, and Paper, which is actually the Daily Prophet Newspaper. There are even options forthe four Hogwarts Houses.
Players can further represent their House pride by adding logos, with one for each House, as well as a logo forHogwarts Legacy. The position of the logo can also be easily determined using the setting below.
