Summary

AFallout 4player shares a hilarious clip highlighting a bizarre Ada glitch that causes the robot to move around erratically. Ada is aFallout 4companion NPC that was added with the Automatron DLC, and she acts particularly strangely in this video.

Since its release,Fallout 4has received multiple DLC packsthat are part of its Season Pass. Included with the season pass are the Wasteland, Contraptions, and Vault-Tec Workshops, Automatron, Far Harbor, and Nuka-World. Each DLC offering has its own perks, with Automatron focusing on a robot that players can customize named Ada. In the climactic battle of Automatron, players will join Ada in trying to defeat The Mechanist who has an army of robots that attack innocent settlers. As one gamer was set to begin the Automatron DLC, their Ada unit started acting bizarrely until ultimately disappearing.

Reddit user Schievelbein recently shared aFallout 4clip in which their companion Ada appears to be impacted by a glitch. The clip begins with the player character in Power Armor looking around one of the overpasses inFallout 4’s Boston Commonwealth. Ada seems to spawn out of nowhere next to a burning vehicle, and she swiftly moves backward without any animation. The player follows Ada but loses her as she loops around them to float between some trees before making contact with a fire and flying into the sky. The player then looks up to watch Ada disappear as she flies higher and higher, with the quest marker still applied to her.

What Caused This Ada to Move So Strangely?

As Schievelbein hasn’t elaborated on the event, it’s currently unclear what caused the Ada unit to act so strangely. There aremany differentFallout 4glitches, one of which may be impacting their save file. As the fire seemingly had something to do with the glitch, it’s possible that Ada’s lack of collision and animation combined with the fire to change the trajectory of the robot from a horizontal to a vertical one. Given that Ada disappears at the end of this video, it’s likely that the gamer had to load an earlier save to start the Automatron DLC as they intended. Ada is a central component to the DLC and given that the quest marker remained on the NPC, it’s likely that she still required upgrades.

Because some mods can result in glitches like this, Schievelbein may have caused this bizarre bug themselves. While Bethesda released aFallout 4next-genpatch, there are still many unresolved bugs which may include this Automatron one. As the game has seen some updates recently, this glitch may get fixed in the future.
