Hearthstoneis going back to its roots with Return to Naxxramas, the newly-announced Mini-Set forMarch of the Lich King. This chilling collection ofHearthstonecards will be available February 14.
Return to Naxxramas, first teased inuploads from aHearthstoneartist’s gallery, contains 38 new cards spread between its 11 classes. Players can purchase the full 72-card Mini-Set for the typical $15 or 2,000 Gold. The Golden version of the Mini-Set will be available for $70 or for 10,000 Gold. While this price may seem steep, this is the first time a GoldenHearthstoneMini-Set is buyable with in-game currency.

At press time,Hearthstonehas revealed four cards from the upcoming set, including two of the set’s four Legendary cards. The new Death Knight class inHearthstoneis getting its first Colossal minionand Location card, first introduced inVoyage to the Sunken CityandMurder at Castle Nathriarespectively. Additionally, a new neutral version of Baron Rivendare provides an exciting alternative win condition that may prove powerful in the Wild format. Players can expect the rest of the cards to be revealed over the next week leading up to the Mini-Set’s release.
Naxxramas is a name familiar toWarcraftfans andHearthstoneplayers. The necropolis is famous for being one ofWorld of Warcraft’smost iconic raids.Curse of Naxxramaswas also the first adventure added toHearthstone, containing the first new cards ever added to the digital TCG. The sloppy release of the flagship card collection led to the memorable “NAXX OUT?” meme, which has already begun trending on Twitter again in light ofHearthstone’snew Mini-Set.
Memes aside, players are legitimately excited to see what Return to Naxxramas has to offer.Hearthstone’snew Death Knight classhas been quite popular since its release, and many are excited to see it get its own Colossal and Location card.Hearthstonehad previously confirmed Location cards would become evergreen, but players don’t know if the Colossal Sindragosa minion is proofVoyage to the Sunken City’sspecial keyword will be reprinted again in the future, or if the Legendary Card is just to catch the new class up to the others in Standard.
Unfortunately, the same February 14Hearthstonepatch will introduce the final update for the Mercenaries game mode. The rogue-likeHearthstonebattle mini-game is entering maintenance modeafter a short year and a half of new content. Luckily, the update introduces some new heroes, mechanics, and even a new endgame progression system to ensure Mercenaries fans can have one last hurrah with the game mode.
