The history of the development ofHalo Infiniteis a story full of ups and downs. After being announced back at E3 2018, the game was later delayed, forcing eager fans to wait until December of 2021 to play the full game. However, a number of those same fans would regard the eventual launch of the game as a success, with many praising the multiplayer and thecampaign inHalo Infiniteas an improvement over recent installments in the series. Unfortunately, that praise would be short-lived.

Only a couple of months after launch, numerous members of theHalocommunity have become frustrated with the state of the first-person shooter. Not only hasHalo Infinitefailed to fix many technical issuesin the weeks following its release, such as desync, but it has suffered from a lack of new content. Adding to the problems, many have claimed that there has been a lack of transparency on the behalf of the developer, 343 Industries. Recently, one of the developers working for the game studio had some honest words on the matter.

Taking to Reddit, Brian Jarrard, known as “ske7ch343” on the platform, addressed fans that were discontent with the current development situation forHalo Infinite. In a candid response, Jarrard admitted that the studio has been working to overcome many difficulties during the development of new content for the game. “We’re certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations,” he said. However, he revealed that the current problems would require more time to iron out before an update could be given.

In addition to this news that is likely discouraging for many fans of the series, the developer went further into one of the reasons for thelack of updates from 343 Industries. According to Jarrard, “a lot of production planning, costing, planning, hiring, etc. is all happening which doesn’t really lend to detailed regular updates.” However, he acknowledged that this was likely an unsatisfactory answer for many fans. “We understand the community is simply out of patience and frankly, I think understandably tired of words,” he admitted.

Unfortunately, it seems that many gamers were unsatisfied with the response from Jarrard. Given the prolonged period of little to no substantial updates on the game, many found the comments to be more of the same from the developers. “You say we’re tired of words, then proceed to say the exact phrase we are the most sick of hearing: ‘We need more time,’” MythicForgeFTW said on Reddit.

While there are many questions that fans still have, it appears that players will be getting at least a few answers in the near future.Season 2 ofHalo Infiniteis expected to launch on May 3, just over a month from now. Despite already revealing the name of the season, Lone Wolf, the developers, including Jarrard, have claimed that new details about what to expect from the seasonal update are coming soon. Time will tell if these answers will be enough to satisfy the many discontent fans in theHalocommunity.

Halo Infiniteis available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
