Adding newer weapons opens up new gameplay elements. Plus, with every newHalogame, the older weapons get refreshed with new abilities. As players spend more time withHalo Infinite, they are starting to get a feeling for which weapons are the best in the campaign, and how they impact different elements of gunfights. This list has been expanded give players a good idea of what types of weapons they should try to makeHalo Infinite’s single-player campaign rewarding.

16The Ravager
This grenade launcher can do a ton of damage for both experienced and novice players, but requires some patience to get used to. With a ton of splash damage, players don’t have to worry about hitting targets dead on. The Ravager can easily take down some tougher enemies inHalo Infinitewhile depleting the shields of Hunters. On top of that, players can use the Ravager to quickly clear out an area, thanks to its blast radius.
Damaging vehicles, though, is where this weapon shines the most.In this area, The Ravager is a good alternative if players don’t have access to a rocket launcher, because shots can go farther and do more damage inHalo Infinite’s is somewhat open world and there are many enemies with vehicles. Players will need to get used to the Ravager’s slower rate of fire, but once they master that, using The Ravager becomes easy.

15Hydra
Returning fromHalo 5: Guardians, this rocket launcher-type weapon packs a punch and can be relatively easy to use depending. It’s good to have as a secondary weapon because while it doesn’t do too much damage itself, it complements the player’s loadout with whatever primary weapon they have. The Hydra features two modes: one that shoots several rockets at once, and another that shoots a tracking missile at a single target.
Using the first mode, players can attack many targets at once, making it useful in strongholds where waves of enemies appear. Its secondary firing mode can do wonders depending on the target. Players will find themselves using the tracking mode against bigger enemies or even bosses. It does huge damage, and players don’t have to worry about aim that much. However, players will find that mode is harder to use because it’s much slower. Reloading should be done in a safe spot.

14VK78 Commando
This DMR does a lot more damage than its Battle Rifle counterpart; however, players using should note that the VK78 Commandodoes have its downside, and needs practice for players to get accustomed to using it. It has the accuracy of the Assault Rifle and a somewhat slower firing rate. Players should primarily be using this weapon to get headshots and going after Elites, because they become one-shot kills.
Though it has a smaller magazine than the Battle Rifle and the Assault Rifle, players' shots with the VK78 Commando are more likely to hit their targets than other UNSC weapons. It has the damage of the Assault Rifle, but while going full auto, players will notice it gets better accuracy than the Battle Rifle. Experimenting with this weapon can help players figure out what they need it for.

13Heatwave
One of the newer guns introduced inHalo Infinite, the Heatwave pretty versatile for a short to medium range gun. It has two firing modes, opening up for better ways for players to overcome the enemy. Since ithas the same attributes as shotguns, it’s good for players to use it as closer range. It’s best used in closed areas rather than outdoors, because players can contain their shots in the immediate area.
One of the Heatwave’s best features is that its shots can bounce off walls to get enemies around the corners. In the firing mode where shots are horizontal, players can easily hit multiple targets at once. In the secondary mode, the Heatwave shoots vertically. More shots get to hit one target, which increases the damage. With the Heatwave, players don’t have to hit an enemy directly; rather, they just have to land the shot near them. And with the high base damage, players can easily take down harder enemies with two or three shots.

12The Needler
One of the most iconic weapons throughout theHaloseries, the Needler’s best feature is how it seeks out the enemy. Pink spikes attach themselves to the enemy and damage them, then after they explode, those spikes either bring down the shield or kill the target outright. InHalo Infinite,The Needler is just as powerful as in previous games.
Not only does it have a high damage output, but it’s also easy to handle. Tracking needles go after the enemy, although they won’t fully seek out an enemy if they jump behind a wall, so it’s better if the player gets the enemy out in the open. Killing an enemy with the Needler can trigger a chain reaction, damaging other enemies with the blast that follows after being shot. Players picking up The Needler will have an easy time because of the high fire rate.

10S7 Sniper
TheS7 Sniperis a hefty weapon inHalo Infinite’scampaign. The Sniper has made an appearance in almost everyHalogame and has become a staple in its arsenal of weapons.
The Sniper is great at distance, but when it comes to up close and personal battles, it obviously falls behind other weapons that have both close-range and long-range capabilities. While it isn’t as versatile as some of the other weapon choices if players are trying to take out enemies without getting too close, there is no better weapon than the S7 Sniper. It can take out enemies using a swift headshot with ease.

9Gravity Hammer
TheGravity Hammerhas always been a great weapon choice in theHalofranchise, and this remains true inInfinite. The Gravity Hammer is a powered hammer that comes down on enemies with a massive blow.
The Gravity Hammer is fantastic against enemies with high health, as its hits do massive damage. Its biggest downside is its drawback time. It will take players a few seconds to get each swing of the Gravity Hammer in, making it difficult to use in high-pressure fights when surrounded by many enemies. When paired with equipmentlike the Grapple Hook, however, the Gravity Hammercan become a wrecking ball of power.

8Sentinel Beam
TheSentinel Beamis a weapon that is easy to overlook, but it can be a great asset to players in a tough situation. The Sentinel Beam is especially useful during missions featuring lots of Sentinels, as ammo for the weapon will be plentiful.

Being a high-powered laser beam, the Sentinel Beam is great to use on enemies at medium to long-range and does huge damage if used with good accuracy. The biggest drawback of this weapon is the fact that it can overheat quickly, which can put players in a sticky situation if they are surrounded by many enemies, which is usually the case inHalo Infinite.
7Skewer
TheSkeweris a welcome addition toHalo Infinite’s lineup of weaponry. The Skewer shoots a massive bolt at targets and does enormous amounts of damage. It is a great gun to have in a boss battle.
The Skewer is best used at close to medium range, but can be used at long-range if needed. Its bullets arc when shooting at a distance, which can make aiming more difficult than with other weapons, but it makes up for it in its damage. The Skewer does massive damage to enemies and is one of the best weapons in the gameto use against vehicles and bossesalike.
