After a number of leaks and rumors gathered attention in the community,Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionhas been officially announced. However, this doesn’t mean that fans have given up searching for leaks attached to the title. In fact, Rockstar Games recently seems to have accidentally leaked more information onGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionto its official website, including details on the games' revamped controls.
The new leak was briefly posted to a Rockstar Games support page and was quickly removed, but not before fans managed to copy and paste the relevant information. It is currently available on GTA Forums. Although the leak appears to be primarily a marketing blurb and is subsequently a bit lacking in detail, it does report thatGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionwill featureGrand Theft Auto 5-style controls.

According to the leak,Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionwill contain the classic titlesGrand Theft Auto III,Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, andGrand Theft Auto: San Andreas, all of which will be updated for a new generation of consoles and gamers. It directly mentions new lighting and environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, andGrand Theft Auto 5-style controls and targeting. Fans of these titles includingGrand Theft Auto: San Andreashave previously created fan-made modsdesigned to add similar fixes and adjustments, and now it seems that Rockstar Games is finally joining in.
The blurb also mentions thatGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionwill feature across-the-board enhancements, possibly to try and make up for theremoval of classicGrand Theft Autogames from Steam. Although the leak doesn’t go into detail on the exact nature of all of these enhancements, what it has mentioned already may be enough to gather fan interest.Grand Theft Auto: San Andreasalready has a control scheme that’s fairly similar toGrand Theft Auto 5, butGrand Theft Auto 3will require massive overhauls to bring it to the same level.
As of writing, fans appear to be taking this leak with a grain of salt. Althoughfans appear to be looking forward toGrand Theft Autoremasters, this doesn’t seem to mean they are willing to accept this new leak without proof. Several users on the forum pointed out that there’s no screenshot of the leak while it was still on the Rockstar Games site, and the attached link is dead. While some fans appear willing to give it a chance, others directly accused it of being fake.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionlaunches later this year on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It will release on Android and iOS in the first half of 2022.
