Red Dead Redemption 2is a massive open world game with an expansive world full of secrets and interesting things for players to discover. Like with any video game, though, not everything that was planned forRed Dead Redemption 2made it into the final game. Datamining efforts have discovered some of the cut content that was planned forRed Dead Redemption 2at various stages of its development, but as it turns out, a tattoo fromGrand Theft Auto Onlinemay hint at even more cut content.
This was pointed out by YouTube channel Strange Man, which specializes in Rockstar Games content. The video draws attention to aGrand Theft Auto Onlinetattoo called X Marks The Spot, which is apparently representive of Guarma fromRed Dead Redemption 2. Guarma, for the uninitiated, is an island that players visit duringChapter 5 ofRed Dead Redemption 2.

The video explains that the tattoo has symbols that correlate to content that was cut fromRed Dead Redemption 2. This includes shark fins, which Strange Man argues are representative of the sharks that were supposed to be swimming in the water when players visit Guarma. There’s also a sea monster, whose audio files have been found inRed Dead Redemption 2, and would’ve basically been theLoch Ness Monster. The possible model for this later appeared in theGrand Theft Auto OnlineCayo Perico Heist expansion.
It seems much of the cut content forRed Dead Redemption 2’s Guarma arearevolved around animals, but not all of it. For example, the video refers to quicksand that is referenced on the tattoo. Evidence of quicksand being planned for Guarma was also allegedly found in theRed Dead Redemption 2game files.
Strange Man isn’t sure about all of the supposed references and Easter eggs on theGrand Theft Auto OnlineX Marks the Spot tattoo, surmizing that one was a nod to a possible planned chupacabra Easter egg.Red Dead Redemption 2Easter eggsand Easter eggs in Rockstar Games in general haven’t shied away from supernatural things, so that doesn’t sound outside the realm of possibility at all.
The video ends with Strange Man expressing hope that one day Rockstar Games will be able to fully flesh out Guarma and restore this content that was ultimately cut from the game. Strange Man suggests that this could potentially happen in aRed Dead Onlineupdate, though that remains to be seen. Rockstar Games is reportedly busy working on the PS2-eraGrand Theft Autoremasters, soRed Deadfans will have to hang tight for now.
