Grand Theft Auto 5is the highest grossing entertainment product in history so far, and its upcoming release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X means it’s going to widen the gap even further. Rockstar Games had originally pegged theGTA 5next-gen release for November 11, but it was recently announced during the PlayStation Showcase event that plans for the game’s next-gen release have been pushed back. The newGrand Theft Auto 5PS5 and Xbox Series X release date is sometime in March of 2022, and while that may be bad news forGTAfans, it’s good news for the other games releasing in November.
Grand Theft Auto 5was originally released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013 before making its way to PS4 and Xbox One in 2014. AGrand Theft Auto 5PC portwas released eventually as well, further expanding the open world game’s potential audience. It’s been nearly a decade since the release ofGrand Theft Auto 5, though, and it’s safe to say that many fans are growing anxious for the next game in the series and are getting tired of the constant re-releases.

This is evident by thesevere backlash to theGrand Theft Auto 5PS5 trailer, which has amassed over 100,000 dislikes at the time of this writing. But even with this backlash,Grand Theft Auto 5is a juggernaut, and its release on next-generation consoles will undoubtedly pull attention away from other titles that are releasing in the month of November.
