Ghost Recon Breakpointplayers have been waiting for quite some time now for a large-scale patch to fix issues they’ve been dealing with since launch, but unfortunately, they’ll have to wait a bit longer. Ubisoft’sGhost Recon Breakpointteam pushed back the release of a major “immersive mode” update just a week before its originally scheduled launch; now, the new mode won’t be arriving until the spring.
Breakpoint’s launch wasn’t too long ago in October 2019, butUbisoft reported that sales were lowupon release, and since then the developer has been trying to fix and adjust gameplay where possible to make the game better for its players. The immersive mode update was expected to go a long way towards doing just that, as it was designed in response to direct player feedback on the base game.

According to a blog post from the UbisoftBreakpointteam, the immersive mode will “change the way” players experience the game–and it’s because of that complexity the update has now been delayed. As the team wrote, integrating the new mode has apparently proven more challenging than originally projected, and it was decided to delay the patch in order to ensure abetterBreakpointexperiencefor players.
Now, interested players can check back next week on March 5, when Ubisoft has promised an “intel drop” on the mysterious immersive mode. Currently, there aren’t too many details to be found, beyond the fact that its creation was fueled by asurvey of theBreakpointcommunity.
There isn’t a new release date for the immersive mode yet, but due to the delay Ubisoft now plans to release the update and thenew engineer classat the same time; in addition, theBreakpointteam hopes to release Episode 2 content alongside the update as well. In its post, Ubisoft also acknowledged theBreakpointplayer base’s desire for more transparent communication, promising that “we aim to provide this whenever possible.” Ubisoft added that the many different pieces currently in development made it difficult to nail down specific dates, but players would be getting more information on all upcoming additions toBreakpointcome March.
The game has been updated before, as developers have been hurrying to fix bugs and add content since theBreakpoint’s less than stellar launch, but players have been especially counting on this next update to fix many of their grievances with the game. Hopefully, the immersive mode will be worth the wait.
