Like manyGenshin Impactcharacters, Yae Miko was heavily rumored to join the roster of playable characters. Travelers will meet her during their quests in Inazuma, and since her introduction, fans have been long awaiting news of her banner release. Fans were disappointed when theGenshin Impact2.4 banners were announced, bringing Shenhe andYun Jinbut missing out on the Electro character, but miHoYo has finally confirmed that she’s joining as a playable character er through the official Twitter account, and she’s been heavily rumored for the version 2.5 update.

Based on the currentGenshin Impacttimeline, version 2.5 should launch mid-February, and most rumors corroborated byGenshininsiders have been correct so far, so it’s a solid lead, and miHoYo’s timing of confirming Yae Miko and the timing of previous (official) character reveals corroborates this. However, at the time of writing, it looks like beta testing for Yae Miko has just recently begun, though much information has already surfaced online.

Official Info On Yae Miko

The five-star character Yae Miko has already made appearances inGenshin Impactthrough the Inazuma storyline. The owner of the Yae Publishing House and overseeing the Grand Narukami Shrine, Lady Yae is a powerful person in the world of Teyvat. The red and white coloration of her robes is a reference to her kitsune lineage and her fox form, which may hint at possible ties to the Adeptus, similar to Ganyu, with whom she’s acquainted. She’s also an old friend of Morax and Baal, and it’s thought that Yae Miko is over 500 years old. Otherwise, she’s as mysterious as she is intimidating, though she plays an important role in the main Archon storyline in Inazuma as Raiden Shogun’s servant.

Yae Miko Leaks

Unfortunately, no official information on Yae Miko’s kit and abilities has yet to surface, though some leaks have provided minimal information. As told by several insider sources, Yae Miko is thought to be a catalyst wielder, and Yae Miko’s official artwork clearly shows her Electro vision.

An olderGenshin Impactleak claimed thatYae Mikowould have a cloning ability called Divine Kitsune’s Blessing, giving all members near a clone a 20% energy recharge bonus and a 15% Electro damage bonus. According to the leak, Yae Miko can also switch places with an existing clone once every 20 seconds, increasing all clones' durations by 10 seconds. Additionally, Yae Miko’s passive allegedly increases each party member’s elemental skill level by 1.

More recent leaks have revealedpossible constellations for the Electro vision Yae Miko, including recovering 7 energy every time Heavenly Fox triggers a Lethal Sakura Thunderbolt at C1 and ignoring 45 of an enemy’s defense when a Lethal Sakura is created, as well as raising the ability’s initial level by two and its max level by four.

It’s also been said that Yae Miko is supposed to be one of the most powerful DPS characters in the game, on par with Hu Tao,Xiao, and Ganyu, which would make sense for the head of the Grand Narukami Shrine. She may also have a tail when using her elemental burst, further hinting towards her possible Adepti nature.

As previously stated,Genshin Impactleaks, especially those corroborated by multiple insiders, are typically in the clear, so anyone interested in pulling for Yae Miko when her banner potentially arrives in version 2.5 should keep an eye out for more leaks from trusted sources.
