Summary

Genshin Impactdeveloper HoYoverse has confirmed that the artifact inventory will be expanded in the upcoming version 4.0 update. A number ofGenshin Impactplayers have been requesting more artifact storage, which makes sense considering the current limit of 1,500 is reasonably small. Fortunately, it looks like the issue will be resolved sooner than expected.

Artifacts inGenshin Impactallow players to increase their characters' effectiveness in combat and provide them with a variety of buffs, such as additional critical rate, energy recharge, and attack speed. These magical items are divided into five categories based on their rarity, with the five-star artifacts offering a higher number of sub-stats. Players can upgrade them to receive a random stat that may help take the upper hand during combat.

Genshin Impacthas officially confirmed that the inventory capacity for artifacts will be increased to 1,800 from 1,500 with the release of the Fontaine update later this month. Additionally, players will be able to destroy all four-star artifacts at once to free up some space in their inventory. As for the managing cost of these items, the developers have revealed that the locking function will be optimized in the future. On the game’s Reddit page, manyGenshin Impactplayers have praised HoYoverse for saving them from stressing about their inventory space, with some claiming that they would like the option to mark artifacts as disposable. It’s worth mentioning that storing them will be much easier, especially for players with higher Adventure Rank.

Each element inGenshin Impactcorresponds to a different artifact, with which players can empower their respective builds. The good news is that a recent leak has revealed that two new artifact sets will be added to the game in the version 4.0 update. One of these items is called Golden Troup and provides an additional damage bonus on elemental skills. Players should take this leak with a pinch of salt until an official confirmation arrives.

Aside from the additional inventory capacity for artifacts,Genshin Impactversion 4.0will allow players to craft eight new strongboxes, including Pale Flame, Emblem of the Severed Fate, and Vermillion Hereafter. With the release of the Fontaine update, they will dig into a new region filled with quests, NPCs, and formidable enemies. More details regarding the quality-of-life improvements and this multi-layered map will be revealed in a special program on August 4.

Genshin Impactis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
