The first banner cycle forGenshin Impactupdate 2.5 has officially brought the long-awaited Electro user Yae Miko to the playable roster. Even though she was rumored to be a new DPS character, Miko turned out to be a very specific support that relies on her totems to apply continuous Electro damage.
Yae Miko has been far from being the strongest character in the game, and most players seemed to be satisfied with her performance on the field. However,Genshin Impactupdate 2.6 has brought some changes to her elemental skill and fans are outraged, to say the least.

The Sesshou Sakura that Miko leaves with her Elemental Skill will now prioritize the nearest enemy rather than having a random target selection. While Hoyoverse had the intention tomake Yae Miko’s DPS numbers more consistent, the changes have actually created even more problems. An interesting post on the game’s official subreddit proves that Hoyoverse actually nerfed Yae Miko in this update. The video shows how her totems become useless if the nearest enemy has a shield. This forces players to deal with the most annoying enemy first before attacking any others.
One of the character’s main strengths was the ability to apply Electro damage to multiple targets, which is quite easy if the target selection is random. This change makesYae Miko’s constellationsalmost worthless since it increases her totem range. Players are understandably angry and a big part of the community is already asking for a refund, especially those who’ve acquired multiple constellations which can cost up to hundreds of dollars.
The video has already gathered almost 10k upvotes, and Hoyoverse will most likely make some adjustments to Yae Miko’s kit. This problem has become the main topic in the community at the moment, even though the newGenshin Impactupdate 2.6brought a brand-new character - Kamisato Ayato. The new update has also introduced a new region named Chasm.
Ayato will be a new offensive character that can fill the DPS and sub-DPS roles in most team compositions. He has arrived alongsidethe Anemo support Ventias a double banner. The official livestream forGenshin ImpactVersion 2.6 has confirmed that Ayato’s sister, Ayaka, will appear alone on the second banner cycle, despite the fact that other characters have been rumored to receive their banner re-run.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version in development.
