With the launch ofFortniteChapter 3 Season 3, a number of adjustments were made to the rate at which XP is awarded. These adjustments were met with concern by some players who felt as though leveling had become too time-consuming. Developer Epic Games has decided to try to address that concern by doubling Accolade XP inFortnite, though some fans may be unclear about exactly what that is and how it is earned.
What is Accolade XP in Fortnite
Quite simply, Accolade XP is the XP that is earned for performingsimple actions during matches. Those actions include opening chests, discovering locations, taming animals, and collectingReality Fruit inFortnite, and indeed players should now be receiving double XP every time that they execute them. While this may not seem like a tremendous boost, the extra XP will certainly add up as fans continue to play matches over the course of the season.

To note, there is one very important type of XP that is not considered Accolade XP, and it is the XP that is awarded from completingquests inFortnite. This means that the Accolade XP buff has not affected challenge XP, and that may be slightly disappointing to some fans. Indeed, some players may feel as though the change to Accolade XP is a step in the right direction, but that more dramatic measures need to be taken to improve the leveling experience.
One other thing to mention is that Epic Games also granted “a boost of Supercharged XP” alongside the adjustment that was made to Accolade XP. Players should thus see some tremendous XP gains during their first few matches following the change, as they will be receiving that Supercharged XP. That accelerated rate of acquisition will only be temporary, though, as fans are likely to only gain a few levels onFortnite’sChapter 3 Season 3Battle Pass before the Supercharged XP has run out.
For those players that are curious, it takes 7,920,000 XP to reach Level 100 and 15,920,000 XP to reach Level 200 in Chapter 3 Season 3. This is certainly a tremendous amount of XP, and fans should not expect to earn it all through Accolade XP alone. Indeed, players that are interested in hitting those levels before the season ends will need to put some effort toward completing daily, weekly, and milestone quests, and they may even want to spend some time inFortnite’s Creative mode.
