Fortnitehas released countless Marvel skins over the last few months, and it seems like Epic Games has no plans to stop doing so any time soon. WhileFortnitesaw a brief break from Marvel additions during the Halloween season, things are picking up with the latest planned addition of Black Widow.
Teased via an image on theFortniteTwitter, Black Widow seems to be coming first to those participating in the game’s Marvel Knockout Super Series tournament. This is alsohow Daredevil arrived toFortnite, originally launching as a tournament reward for winners of the first bracket and coming to the item shop later. If Black Widow’s addition mirrors Daredevil’s release setup, she should be arriving about a week after the next phase in the tournament.

While players wait patiently for the release ofBlack Widow’s MCU movie, using the character withinFortniteshould help pass the time. Black Widow will be joining a massive lineup of Marvel heroes, from X-Men like Wolverine to her fellow Avengers members Thor and Iron Man. While it is unclear if she will be coming to the game with her own abilities or just as a skin, seeing her arrive is good news either way.
While the image from the Twitter teaser is blacked out, obscuring the character’s design withinFortnite, it is unlikely that Black Widow looks much different from her traditional comic book appearances.Fortniteseems to be ripping the characters straight from the pages when it comes to designing their looks within the game, making it likely that Natasha wears her classic outfit as opposed to some of the more variedBlack Widow looks seen inMarvel’s Avengers.
WithGhost Rider recently joiningFortnitethrough the Marvel Super Series competition as well, it will be interesting to see what characters come toFortnitenext. Both of Marvel’s iconic Captains, Captain America and Captain Marvel, have yet to appear in the game. Beyond that, the Fantastic Four still need to appear given their ties to Doctor Doom, who is already in the game. Spider-Man is certainly an option as well, and his addition seems likely given the numerous leaks regarding Venom.
WithFortnitehaving years of Marvel content planned, the developers will have plenty of options for new skins going forward. For now, though, players should get excited about the upcoming addition of Black Widow, as the Soviet spy should be seen dropping intoFortnitematches very soon.
