Fort Solisrepresents the development debut for the studio Fallen Leaf. The atmospheric and narrative-centered psychological thriller takes place in the remote mining outpost of Fort Solis on the newly colonized planet Mars. Featuring an all-star cast including Roger Clark, Julia Brown, and Troy Baker, this game offers a high-fidelity, story-driven experience in which the majority ofgameplay focuses on Quick Time Eventsand exploration.
One location players will need to become familiar with in both Chapters 2 and 3 is the Maintenance Unit. Here players are able to access the private terminal of engineer Adam Hoskins, as well as an audio log from Nick Tout and various other important materials. The location serves as an essential turning point for the story, the only problem is that it can be difficult to find. Given that the planet’s surface is enduring a powerful storm, it is difficult to use any visual markers to locate the “MU”, and the map provided on the player’s multi-tool is not a great deal of help either.

Surface (Chapter 2)
Having escaped from the tunnels and re-emerged on the planet’s surface, Jack must climb a ladder next to the Titan extractor vehicle in order to return to the upper level of the base where the ground structures are located. Upon reaching the surface, Jack will remark that a cargo container door has been left open.Investigating thiswill lead him to find the deceased body of Nick Tout, who has been murdered in a gruesome way, but does have the necessary access to be able to enter the Maintenance Unit.
Having taken the keycard from Nick’s body, Jack can then make his way to the Maintenance Unit by turning left out of the cargo container. The building can be found at the rear of the Atrium with the large silhouette of the Greenhouse behind it. It is not necessary to return or pass beyond the Atrium again at this point, any players who do somight end up mistakingthe Comms Center for the Maintenance Unit. Upon reaching the MU, Jack will be able to unlock the door and proceed through the front entrance.

Tunnels (Chapter 3)
In Chapter 3, players will take control of Jessica Appleton, who is responding to Jack’s messages of distress anddecides to make her own way to Fort Solis. Along the way, she is taunted over her headset by Wyatt, who tells her to meet him in the Greenhouse. By following the network of tunnels, Jessica will eventually find herself in the engine room where Jack was during the conclusion of Chapter 2.
Heading through this room towards the entrance will lead players to a set of stairs. By ascending these and entering the room at the top, players will find themselves back in the main area of the Maintenance Unit where further information and new Surveillance footage can be found on Hoskin’s terminal.
