ThroughoutFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, developer Square Enix will present players with different choices or afun dart mini-gamethat don’t have a major impact on the story but can offer unique items. Some might like the mystery associated with those new choices, but other players might not know what to do and are looking for help.
In Chapter 9 ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, players will find themselves with a number of side quests to complete. This is also the section of the game that features the classicHoneybee Inn sequence with crossdressing Cloud. The section also is also where players see their choice of dress for Tifa come into play.

At a certain point in the chapter,Final Fantasy 7 Remakeplayers will come across a mystery drink with the option to drink it or not. Mystery drinks in video games are usually a good thing, but the game never makes clear what will happen if Cloud consumes the liquid.
If Cloud drinks the mystery drink it doesn’t appear to have any effect on him. There is a battle sequence a little later on, so some might assume this drink would offer some benefit there but that doesn’t seem to be the case. All that happens is Cloud drinks the mystery liquid and comments on it to Aerith.
If Cloud doesn’t drink the mystery drink there are no repercussions either. Skipping on the drink does not negatively effect him and it doesn’t impact therelationship with Aerith.
While some had likely hoped that the mystery drink would be a buff or offer SP for weapon upgrades, but it is merely a MacGuffin. The drink isn’t even connected to a PS4 trophy like earningJessie’s praise in the motorcycle mini-game, so it is truly an impact-less choice.
Many of the choices inFinal Fantasy 7 Remakedo have an impact on the story, even if they don’t change any of the major beats. For example, choosing to give the10,000 Gil to Hartin exchange for assistance will unlock a weapon for Barret. And the aforementioned dress choice determines what Tifa wears later on in Chapter 9, along with being part of a more comprehensive trophy.
Still, players will likely want to know what happens if they drink the mystery drink ahead of time and now they have an answer. We would say drink it in the off chance that it maybe comes into play in thesecond episode ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. That’s doubtful, but you never know.
