Fans of theFast and Furiousfranchise will now be delighted to know that a scene from the seventh movie has been recreated in the realm ofGrand Theft Auto 5. Crossovers are common among video games and other media, and this fan-made scene is no exception.GTAhas reached its quarter-century anniversary, showing that the enjoyment of the franchise has only grown over the years. One fan has chosen to combine two worlds that revolve around speeding cars and adrenaline-fueled scenarios.
AGrand Theft Auto 5fan, 7BucksGaming, has taken the plane drop fromFast and Furious 7and brought it into theGTAuniverse using Rockstar Editor, which is a feature forGTA 5on PC. It allows players to effectively set up, record, edit, and then share what they’ve created, as it’s both an editing tool and Director’s Mode rolled into one. In this case, it’s the scene fromFast and Furious 7, where the crew is dropped–vehicles and all–to the ground below.

The video starts off cinematically, showing the lineup of vehicles in the aircraft along with the drivers. The voice-overs and scenes from the film are imposed over theGTArecreation, giving it a little bit more depth, since the player characters are little more than single-emotion sims. The appearance of the bulldozer used to push Roman out of the plane is even more hilarious, possibly given the graphics and non-moving mouth of the player. This one-dimensional style of reaction can lead to even funnier results, such as whenNPCs are utilized in Director’s Mode.
The descent of the vehicles, the timing of the clips used from the movie, and even the way that the vehicles landed on the ground were all expertly edited together to create a video that was smooth and enjoyable to watch. Even the cloud glitch, where they were moving much faster than they would be in real life, provided an almost cinematic element to the video game rendition of thescene fromFast and Furious 7.
GTAhas been crossed with a wide variety of other games and media, including the much more mild andslice-of-life style gameAnimal Crossing, and half the fun of being a fan of a game comes from looking forward to what the franchise will influence next. The video by 7BucksGaming was a fun and clever render of an action-packed moment, and hopefully, withGrand Theft Auto 6in the works for 2024, there will be many more opportunities for crossovers.
Grand Theft Auto 5is available on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
