Releasing today following a beta over the last week,Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockouthas already become the target of some severe review bombing from players who attempted to jump into the title earlier this morning. It seems the reasoning behind the negative reaction has been down tothe game’s technical issues at launch, with players taking to social media to report major server crashes.

Interestingly,Fall Guys’Twitter has been quick to get out in front of the complaints and address them head-on, telling fans “we’re currently beingreview-bombedon Steam.” The page clarified, however, that major fixes are in the works, requesting that players hold off on imparting criticism towards the title until they get a chance to play it as the developers' intended.

“We’re working really hard to get running smoothly for SO MANY players” the developers claim in their tweet, continuing, “we know it’s super frustrating, but if you could hold off from negatively reviewing - Until you get chance to play the game, it would really help us out.” Looking at the game’s page on Steam, it’s clear the title currently isn’t suffering too badly compared to other releases that have dealt with similar controversies at launch.Fall Guysis currently averaging a “mixed” score on the storefront, with many positive reviews to balance out the negative onslaught.

However, it’s clear a good number of the negative reviews are coming from players who haven’t even managed to get intoFall Guysyet. One of the page’s most recent critiques reads “can’t play game, because servers doesn’t work. Refund this,” while another merely states, “they pinged everyone not to leave a negative review because their servers don’t work lmfao. So here I am to leave a negative review.” It seems a lot of the negative feedback is from players disgruntled about the title’s technical issues, which is an unnecessary and toxic way to express frustration at launch day problems, especially whenthe team behindFall Guyshas expressed they’re working on fixing the issues. Mediatonic is a small studio after all, and players need to be patient as they solve the game’s most pressing technical problems.

Alternatively, there area lot of players leavingFall Guysloveon Steam and Twitter, with those who have managed to play the game claiming it’s an incredibly fun experience. “A battle royale that’s fun, why did no one think about this before,” one player muses on Steam, while a second states “It’s nice to have BR that’s just about having fun. 10/10 would fall again.” Hopefully, Mediatonic can push past these technical issues and amass some more positive user reviews in the days to come.
