It’s been less than two weeks since the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and while many players are still enjoying the open-world setting and the healthy amount of free exploration the games have to offer, there are some issues with the current endgame. Because there is no Battle Tower inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, nor a similar feature to keep players engaged with battles after they complete the main campaign and the post-game tournament, the main appeal for Gen 9 is currently from Tera Raid battles. In just two days the first big event after the short Eevee-themed one will launch, andPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will be able to face Charizard in a 7-star Tera Raid, which is unprecedented.

This will likely be a daunting experience due to6-star Tera Raidsalready featuring level 90 Pokemon with an expanded move pool that ranges from four to eight moves each, allowing for great offensive coverage and thus increased difficulty overall.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s rumored DLC will likely be where a proper endgame content section will launch for Gen 9, but at this stage, the only confirmation about possible expansions comes from leakers rather than official sources. Yet, there are many rumors about all the possible DLC features to come to Gen 9Pokemongames, and they are all equally exciting.

What to Expect From Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC

One of the rumors aboutPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC is that it could include Ultra Beasts, which are notably absent from the base game and actually make sense conceptually considering that Gen 9 introduces a similar gimmick with Paradox Pokemon. The rumor comes none other than from the game itself, as the ultimate reward for completing the Pokedex is a Beast Ball, which is only ever useful to catch wild Ultra Beasts whereas it’s less effective for any other type of Pokemon. With a Beast Ball in the game, it’s hard to believe that Ultra Beasts won’t make a comeback in the rumored DLC.

Another popular rumor, which seems the most likely so far, is that there will be additionalParadox Pokemon inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC, such as a past version of Suicune and a future version of Virizion. These critters are supposedly designed as fusions of the three Legendary Beasts for the former and the three Swords of Justice for the latter, highlighting aspects of how they embody multiple Pokemon at once. This is not simply a rumor, but something that comes from datamined files of these two Pokemon and the third Legendary forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, which is seemingly an egg-like creature.

Lastly, the most beloved theory by fans of the series is thatPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLCwill bring back Mega Evolutions and Kalos. This is mostly due to the fact that the Paldea region is based on Spain and Portugal, with the former being connected to France in the real world. And, with Kalos being based on real-life France, the theory gradually started to make more and more sense.

On top of that, aPokemon Scarlet and Violetleaker hinted at a major DLC gimmickor at least something that has to do with it, and that gimmick is Mega Evolutions. These are arguably the single most beloved feature in modernPokemongames, and if they ended up returning, they could cement Gen 9 as a fan-favorite release. Still, this is mostly speculation at this point in time, but it is possible that information aboutPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC or expansion pass will come in February of next year, only for it to launch in the spring.
