Now, a recent supposed leak stating that generation 4 remakes on the Nintendo Switch will featureLet’s Go-like catching mechanicsis being denied by a prominentPokemonleaker.

Over on Twitter,Pokemonleaker Centro Pokemon LEAKS has denied the claims thatPokemon DiamondandPearlremakeswill featureLet’s Go, Pikachu!andEevee!style catching mechanics, and instead reaffirms that the remakes will function like other mainlinePokemontitles. In their most recent tweets, Centro Pokemon also denies the existence of a supposedLet’s Gogame engine.

The recent leak being refuted by Centro Pokemon has gained traction by correctly predicting not only the existence of a Galarian form for the 1st generation Pokemon Mr. Mime and its new evolution, but also the way that fossils would work inPokemonSwordandShieldahead of the games' releases. While the supposed leak states thatDiamondandPearlremakes would release in 2020, many defending the leak have stated that the remakes were simply pushed back due to complications related to COVID-19. However, Centro Pokemon claims that theIsle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLC Expansionswere already in development beforeSwordandShieldreleased and were not a result of the pandemic, meaning that generation 4 remakes were planned to release in 2021 from the start.

Further, thePokemonleaker claimed that there is no reason to believe thatPokemon Let’s Go,Pikachu!andLet’s Go, Eevee!utilize a different engine, stating that the games use the same game engine asSwordandShield. Further, the leaker affirms that andPokemonDiamondandPearlremakes will also use that same engine. Centro Pokemon has gained traction by previously leaking information onSwordandShield’s beta, the new legendary Pokemon included in the Crown Tundra DLC, and information regarding theupcomingPokemonMOBA,Pokemon Unite.

While Game Freak and The Pokemon Company haven’t confirmedDiamondandPearlremakes just yet, many fans expect to see some sort of announcement soon giventhe franchise’s 25th anniversarycoming up just next month.
