Although women’s soccer has been a feature of EA Sports' yearly soccer outing sinceFIFA 16,EASportsFC 24is the first time women have been included in thepopular Ultimate Team(UT) game mode. As such, retired legends from the women’s game had to be recognized and put into the game as powerful Icon cards.
Icon cards are the most sought-after cards for any UT player and often grant the best stats to use in-game.FC 24only uses 5 female players, but with numerous variants of these Icons, it can be difficult to know where to startif players wish to have one on their team.The vast difference in prices should ensure that a female Icon on this list is accessible to all players. With this in mind, only icons that are still accessible will be considered.
6Birgit Prinz (92 Ovr)
Overall Rating Is Not Reflected By The Stats
On the surface,Birgit Prinzseems like a major pull for players packing her. However, her in-game stats do not reflect the 92 overall that she has been given. Herrelatively low Paceand Dribbling are exacerbated by very weak stats in the all-important Agility and Balance attributes, 60 and 66 respectively.
If players wish to use Prinz, they should focus on deploying her high up the pitch, in and around the opponent’s box, to make the most of her fantastic finishing abilities. Unfortunately though, one of the best female players of all time does not have those real-life abilities reflected in-game.
5Kelly Smith (89 Ovr)
The Cheapest Option
Kelly Smithis rewarded for her 23-year career with numerous Icon variants throughout the game. Her 92 Finishing stat and 4-star Weak Foot accurately reflect the talents of England’s second-all-time top goalscorer. Players should also make sure Smith is on setpieces, as she has the Dead Ball+ playstyle.
Although there are better options, the current asking price of around 80k on Xbox and PlayStation makes Smith a viable option for those players just starting out.
4Camille Abily (90 Ovr)
An Expert At Arriving From Deep
A goal-scoring midfielder,Camille Abily’sability to arrive in the box at the key moment is one of her best features inEA SportsFC 24. Furthermore, with strong defending and Physicality stats, she is a brilliant all-round midfielder who can defend as well as attack.
The majority of players apply a backbone chemistry style to her, increasing her Passing, Defending, and Physicality. This should improve her ability as an all-rounder, but playerscan apply a more attackingchemistry style if they want her attacking more than she is defending.
3Homare Sawa (91 Ovr)
Can Play Anywhere In Midfield
Homare Sawahas the ability to play virtually any midfielder position due to her exceptional stats in almost every attribute. Alongside the stats already mentioned, her 91 Dribbling and 84 Pace allow her to beat playersin midfield effectivelywhile also capable stealing the ball from the opposition.
Furthermore, Sawa’s real-life ability to score a decent number of goals is reflected by a Finishing stat of 92. Players would be wise, therefore, to apply a Shadow chemistry style to prioritize increasing her Pace and Defending.
2Kelly Smith (91 Ovr)
A Much-Needed Upgrade
Kelly Smithreceived an upgrade as part of the Future Stars promotion in which numerous icons, including Zidane and Ronaldinho, also received upgrades. Her pace is well-rounded, with a 90 in both Acceleration and Sprint Speed and with a Finishing stat of 93, Smith isclinical in front of the goal.
Players can make her even more clinical by applying a Hunter chemistry style to increase her Pace to 98 and Shooting to 97. She is less affordable than her previous card, coming in at around 500k, but she is also very much worth it.
1Mia Hamm (95 Ovr)
Best In Class
Perhaps the best female player of all time,Mia Hammwas a goalscoring machine for the USA National Team and any club team lucky enough to have her. Her stats are all exceptional, and this is supported by a 5-star Weak Foot and skills.
As a TOTY variant, she also has two plus playstyles rather than one:Rapid+ and Powershot+. Hamm is not only the best female icon inEA SportsFC 24, but also one of the most desirable cards in anyFIFA/FCgame ever.
