Given Oolong’s history as a comic relief character, hopefully, this quest shows thatDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’sfinal DLC will not be all doom and gloom as players fight for survival with Future Trunks and Gohan.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’supcoming DLC,Trunks The Warrior of Hope,takes players into the darkest timeline ofDragon Ball,a future where all the heroes have died. The DLC will even introducemechanics that will makeDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’splayers feel hunted, so any form of comedy may be a welcome relief.

This information comes from Twitter users Dragon Ball Hype, who tweeted that the DLC will include a sub-story where Oolong will transform into Android 18. In theDragon Ballcanon, Oolong has a history of transforming into female characters in scenes that are typically played for laughs, so this quest will likely serve as comic relief. The tweet also mentioned thatTrunks The Warrior of Hopewill feature a Trunks versus Imperfect Cell fight, which conically takes place after Gohan defeats Cell in the normal timeline, which should give fans a better idea ofwhereDragon Ball Z: KakarotDLC 3 will end.
Many fans were expecting the final DLC to feature another storyline fromDragon Ball Super,and some are still hoping that this DLC continues on Future Trunk’s timeline to cover the Goku Black arc. While disappointment is understandable,The History of Trunksis a fan-favorite story as well, and it does help address an issue with the game. Due to the nature ofDragon Ball Super’sstory focusing on Goku and Vegeta, both characters how received big powers boosts alongside new transformations, and that has left other playable characters under-leveled.Dragon Ball Z: Kakarothas a chance to fix this issuewith theTrunks The Warrior of HopeDLC.
However, while this DLC can fix the imbalance between characters, it also highlights the most ironic problem with the game.Players spend little time playing as Goku inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot,despite the game being named after him. Goku spends most of the game either training off-world or dead, and fans of the series will know he is the latter throughout Future Trunk’s timeline. Though, to be fair to the game, this is exactly how it is in both anime and manga.
With Goku being dead, most of the main cast killed in battle with the Androids, and Trunks and Gohan fighting to survive, this final piece of DLC could be a pretty dark time. So, it is good to know that some of the wackiness ofDragon Ballwill still be there with Oolong and his transformations.
