In the weeklyDestiny 2blog post, Bungie revealed the new loot and modes available with the Festival of the Lost. This year, the event will introduce new Eerie engrams, which will drop from doing Haunter Sectors. Additionally, higher tier Legend Haunted Sectors will also be introduced in the game for the first time, which will have a higher chance of dropping Eerie Engrams. Aside from this, Bungie is also introducing Hocus Focusing with the event that will let players focus Festival of the Lost Weapons and Exotic Armor using Eerie Engrams. This will allow players to obtain Exotic Armor pieces without having to use precious materials by focusing them at Master Rahool.

Another interesting addition to this year’s event is a new textured black leather Memento, which will be a random drop from Festival of the Lost activities. Aside from this, Bungie is also making some changes to the new Checkmate game mode, where Hand Cannon and Pulse Rifle damage is being reworked, along with a reduced frequency for Heavy ammo spawn. Moreover, matchmaking and spawns in Crucible are also getting a revamp. While these are just minor tweaks, the upcomingDestiny 2Season 23 will introduce broader PvP changes.

Aside from this, Season 23 will also introduce a new Iron Banner Mode called Tribute which will be inspired by the current Supremacy mode. That is not all, asDestiny 2Season 23 will also start phasing out Legendary Shardsin the game, which will be fully removed when the Final Shape expansion launches. Another interesting addition will be the Foundry Weapon focusing arriving with Season 23, which will let players focus Hakke, Omolon, Veist, and Suros weapons.
