Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force event has slowly become of the most popular, albeit problematic features of the Neptunian city of Neomuna, with players growing more and more dejected both with how rare it is, but also with some of the bugs that make it impossible to complete. Since this event is a good source of guaranteed Exotics, it’s not hard to see why missing out on it is a big deal.
Even thoughDestiny 2’s Vex Strike Forceis reasonably challenging and rewarding compared to most other public events in the game, it’s possible that many players simply hadn’t ever managed to stumble upon it in the first place, simply because the game doesn’t provide an easy, official way to keep track of it. A clever community member may have just devised a way to solve this issue, however, making Exotic farming that much easier.

Specifically, Reddit user Buuz135 has posted on the mainDestiny 2subreddit, announcing that they had set up a special Discord bot to keep track of Vex Strike Force in real-time, allowing players to jump into the fray whenever it pops up. What makes this particular bot fascinating on top of its utility, however, is the manner in which it keeps track of the event. According to Buuz135, the bot is always in-game and looking at the map of Neomuna, all the while using image recognition to see if an event is happening. After it recognizes that an event is live, it also leverages image-to-text technology to confirm whether it’s any of the various other world events, or Vex Strike Force, in particular.
Buuz135’s bot is available via Discord, and it is named after one ofDestiny 2’s long-lost characters, Asher Mir. After Buuz135 posted their developments on the subreddit, it didn’t take long for their efforts to be validated, as many users confirmed that it’s working rather well. On top of being exceedingly handy for Exotic farming, this bot should also provide more insight into the specifics of how Vex Strike Force works.
Destiny 2can be infamously obtusein some respects, and the specifics of how some of its mechanics work sometimes aren’t readily apparent or self-explanatory. Some players, for example, believed that there was a way to trigger Vex Strike Force through other public events, while others thought that it was on a set timer, instead. Buuz135’s findings, however, revealed that the event is completely random, and that it is possible to get several instances of it running back-to-back.
Players looking to farm Vex Strike Force to their heart’s content are facing problems similar to what’s been going on with Lost Sectors. Notably, players have been asking forDestiny 1’s old Director highlightsto make a return to make it easier to farm Exotics via the daily Lost Sector missions. These, at least, aren’t entirely random, making them less of a hassle than Neomuna’s most problematic public event.
Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
