The Last City got a little more crowded inDestiny 2during the current Season of the Splicer. While the story has seen Mithrax and his Fallen House of Light move into the large Botza District, formerly seen within the Scourge of the Past raid, the Tower also saw the return of Ada-1. Originally introduced with theBlack Armory annual pass content, Ada-1’s return is tied to the new Transmog system which was added this season as well.

Considering her new role dealing with armor instead of weapons, Bungie has also seemingly divided up the available mods this season. The Gunsmith features weapon specific mods whileAda-1 retains more armor focused ones. While it does give players more opportunity to pick up those they may have missed in years past, the main problem still remains where players can’t get the ones they need as vendor offerings are still completely random. Outside of the availability issue,Destiny 2now has a huge number of mods which can make maintaining and managing them a struggle.

In a new post on theDestiny 2subReddit, one player offers their opinion on the issue by bringing up the idea of a loadout system. A big complaint from players is how long it takes to sort through the huge amount of available mods on weapons and armor. With a huge amount of potential combinations based on the sort of activity the player intends to take part of, switching things out and creating new builds can be more time consuming than it should be.

With a loadout system, players can save specific combinations and easily switch based on the activity they’re looking to participate in. Not only does this safeguard the look of the gear, but the desired stats as well. Swapping out pieces changes the stats on the gear, which adds another element to the already slow process ofadding or changing mods on eachDestiny 2armor piece. Titan MR even indicates that an API solution through the companion app would be acceptable if an in-game solution can’t be made.

For manyDestiny 2players,mods and the Transmog system remain big issues for the game. While players have praised the fact that the game no has a system to change the look of armor, most are unhappy with how it heavily incorporates restrictive time-gating and monetization. On the other end of the spectrum, the huge pool of available mods make it nearly impossible for players to get the one they want, something which Bungie has acknowledged, but currently doesn’t have a solution as of yet.

Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
