Dave the Diveris a restaurant simulation with diving, farming, and fish breeding all mixed into it. This strange littlepixel art gameis still in Early Access, but it already has a whole lot of story for gamers to work through. Not only will Dave have to complete a whole slew of story missions, but there are also several side missions, fish collecting,Pokemon-like cards for each fish and boss to collect, and even weapon upgrades. Players will need to collect a lot of items to get all this done, all while trying to run the restaurant at night.

There are currently only three chapters in the early accessindie gameDave the Diver. It might not sound like a whole lot of content, but considering how massive the chapters are, the game is a lot bigger than it would seem. The chapters are:

The Prologue is mostly all about tutorials to cover the basic premises of the game: players will learn how to dive and how to serve at thevideo game restaurant. Chapter 1 covers Dave heading deeper into the water, looking for clues to the Sea People’s past. Next, players need to head lower in the water, into the deep ocean. Chapter 3 is all about Dave finding a Sea City.

How Long is Dave the Diver?

How long the2023 Early Access video gameDave the Divertakes to complete is mostly up to the player.The current chapters can take about 12 hours to complete, and a completionist playthrough of the game can currently take up to 20. This will change drastically when the rest of the game is released.

There are currently seven bosses, including everything from theGiant Squid thatDave the Diverhas to fight first to the Clione Queen in the depths of the sea. Several of these are optional bosses. Regardless of how slowly players plow through these chapters and fights, players will be guaranteed to get several solid hours of gameplay.

This game doesn’t have much in the way of replayability, but some players might want to run through the game again to find all the fish, collectible cards, and bosses they may have missed the first time.
