What is Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence

Currently, there is still a lot about the novel that is unknown, but fans still have a general idea as to what the book will be covering. LikeCyberpunk: Edgerunners, the book takes place primarily in Night City. It follows a group who pull off a heist involving Militech, which also happens to be one of themost powerful organizations in theCyberpunkuniverse.

This new group includes a veteran turned renegade, a Militech sleeper agent, a rookie netrunner, a corporate negotiator, a ripperdoc, and a techie. The twist to it all is that none of the characters know each other, and they are only working together because their mysterious boss has some kind of blackmail information on all of them. The group will have to learn to coexist in order to keep their secrets secret and pull off whatever next job their blackmailing boss has for them.

The book is set to be released on August 8th, 2023, and will come out a little over a month beforeCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’s release date. According to the Amazon listing, the book will have a $24.99 price for a hardcover copy and will cost $17.99 for a paperback copy. A Kindle version is priced at $9.99, and it is 416 pages in print length.

In addition to the novel, the game has already had several other tie-ins in other forms of media of varying popularity. The best-known of these was the animated Netflix show,Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which was well-received by audiences and critics. Even Hideo Kojima, the creator of theMetal Gear SolidandDeath Strandingfranchises, praised the series calling it “Awesome” and Great". Some have even gone as far past as tocreditCyberpunk: Edgerunner’spopularity with the main game’s comeback.

Several comic books were also released set in Night City in roughly the same time period as the main game. One of the first focused on Trauma Team and their exploits throughout the dystopian setting, and one of the latest comics from Dark Horse known asCyberpunk: Blackoutinvolved a power outage that hit the metropolis and focused on the pain and opportunity that came from the disaster. It remains to be seen howCyberpunk 2077: No Coincidencewill measure up to these previous tie-ins.

The future of the franchise appears to be bright.Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel will be led byPhantom Liberty’s director, but will likely not go into full production until the plannedWitchersequel has been released. In addition, the DLC is set to be the only major expansion for the game, so fans may have to settle for other media tie-ins for some time after it is released.
