God of Wargame director Cory Barlog makes a joke about not working onGod of War 2. Barlog had teasedwhere theGod of Warseries could go nextand how the next game could look at Faye and Kratos' relationship, but it’s unclear if the developer has started making a new game.

On Twitter, streamer Greg Miller said that Barlog is spending more time on the site now thatGod of War 2"is wrapped and you have all this free time to spend hounding me now that you failed to stop Patapon 2’s release." Barlog was quick to respond, asking “What is this God of War II you are talking about?” The developer also said that he was working on a newPatapon, which is a series that Miller loves, before he deleted its source code.

Miller and Barlog are good friends and gamers enjoy seeing the jokes between the two of them. Miller’s tweet aboutGod of War 2shouldn’t be taken as an official confirmation that development of the game has been completed. It also shouldn’t be taken as an official announcement of the game if Barlog is having to pretend like he doesn’t knowfans really wantGod of War 2.

However, theGod of Wardevelopment team does seem to be working on something big. There are rumors that the developer iscreating two PS5 gameswith one of them beingGod of War 2and the other being a game calledLegendz.Legendzcould potentially be a PS5 launch title which would mean that most of Barlog’s team is working on that and not onGod of War 2.

A tweet byGod of War’s narrative animator, Kim Newman, alsoteased the development of a new game. If animation work has only just begun, then it may not be ready for release for a while, but the post did get fans excited.

If the developer is working onGod of War 2, or another big PS5 game, then it could be about to officially announce it. Barlog may not be able to say anything on Twitter, but a new game from the team that madeGod of Warwould be a huge announcement for the PS5. Sony could potentially reveal the new game at its rumored PS5 event. However, fans will just have to be entertained by looking at Barlog’s Twitter until that happens.
