Now AT&T customers who missed the game the first time round will be able to giveControl Ultimate Editiona try for free as long as they have an AT&T postpaid mobility plan. AT&T has provided this offer before withBatman: Arkham Knightand hopes to set a precedent that will see more developers offering free timed demos of games which will utilize AT&T’s 5G network. Game streaming is becoming an increasingly prevalent way to play major titles, and it does benefit from the fact that it doesn’t require any downloads, but companies likeMicrosoft claim streaming will not soon take priority over console and PC gaming.

AT&T predicts that the ability to stream games instantaneously will mean developers will soon begin sharing timed demos of their games that players can access as simply as an internet search result. Currently, game streaming is done primarily in player’s homes and through a reliable Wi-Fi network, but AT&T hopes to prove that its 5G network is up to the challenge of streaming AAA titles using Google’s Immersive Stream for Games.

Controlis quite a technically demanding game for AT&T to choose for its limited offer. Even when it is downloaded onto a console,Controlis known to experience frame rate drops, and this could be a bad look for AT&T when it is attempting to show off the virtues of instant video game streaming. Other than that, however,Controlis an excellent game with a deep and engaging story and likable characters. Players that have yet to try the game, and to which this offer applies, should take advantage of the limited time offer.

Five new games are currently in development at Remedy, including a reported remake of the first twoMax Paynegames as part of a publishing agreement with Rockstar Games. A rumored direct sequel toControlmay also be in development, although all of Remedy’s future games may act as sequels toControlin a way, as the game’s AWE DLC has already set up a shared canon which will likely be referenced again inAlan Wake 2.

Control Ultimate Editionis currently available for free to AT&T customers on Mobile and PC.
