Early Life And Background

While little is currently known about Nagumo Miyabi’s past and early life, one certain fact stands out: Nagumo used to be a Class B studentwhen he entered the school, but he eventually moved to Class A. While it is possible to change one’s class in theClassroom of the Eliteseries, doing so requires a student to pay 20 million points to initiate a class transfer, or a class can contribute said amount of points and buy a student by signing a contract with said student if the student agrees.

Little is known about how Nagumo got to transfer classes, whether through changing the rules through a tournament or by raising 20 million points. Regardless of how he managed to accomplish it, transferring from a B class to an A class is simply amazing. Moreover, he then went on to establish dominance among the 2nd-year students and not just transfer from another class.

Without dropping too many spoilers, many believe that Nagumo has a rapist mentality for various reasons. He likes to dominantly and ruthlessly exercise his power, and he gets rid of those who don’t agree with his views. Moreover, he also likes to exert dominance over women and go through back doors to get them to do his bidding. Because of how he acts, some fans believe that Nagumo could’ve been sexually assaulted in his childhood and sought the need to dominantly exercise his power to cover up for his insecurities while getting the thrill of being all-powerful.

Personal Traits And Abilities

Many characters in theClassroom of the Eliteseries excel either academically or physically. Few characters, the ones who could be considered truly elite, excel in both areas, and Nagumo is one of them. Nagumo is very keen on observing others. Simply because he saw thatHorikita Manabu highly valued Ayanokoji, he began to pay attention to the latter, even though he himself saw Ayanokoji as lackluster and average, to say the least. Apart from being wary of Ayanokoji because of his performance at the sports festival, Nagumo didn’t really pay attention to the latter until he finally decided to involve himself and see whatAyanokoji was made of.

As a character, Nagumo completely fits his antagonistic personality. He loves to exert dominance over people, and it’s either other students are for him or against him. If against him, Nagumo will do his best to have said students expelled. Apart from reeling in his power, Nagumo is extremely competitive and always wants to prove he’s the best. This is seen through his challenge with Horikita Manabu. Interestingly, even after Manabu graduates, Nagumo doesn’t stop trying to challenge the latter and even setshis eyes on Suzune.

Despite his dominant and twisted personality, Nagumo is extremely charismatic and easily gets others to trust him. It’s through his charisma that he managed to gain his entire year in the palm of his hands, and then he solidified his rule over them. At times, Nagumo can be overconfident in his abilities, doing things recklessly, and other times, he uses a safer, more reliable method to take down his adversaries.

Role In The Story

Nagumo’s role in theClassroom of the Eliteseries is ultimately to serveas an antagonist to Ayanokoji. After they both discover the true extent of their abilities, Nagumo sees Ayanokoji as a challenge, and battling it out with him thrills him. As the anime series progresses, Nagumo will get more and more students expelled, and Ayanokoji must decide whether or not he will step in to protect certain students or not. After Manabu graduates, few individuals would be able to truly reign in Nagumo.

Despite his many despicable tendencies, Honami Ichinose respects Nagumo Miyabi a great deal. This is perhaps because of his accomplishment of transferring classes, which many strive to accomplish. However, after a unique situation that involvesNagumo coercing Honamito do something she doesn’t adhere to, the respect she has for him dwindles, but Nagumo Miyabi remains as dangerous as ever.

Relationships And Interactions

Nagumo’s interactions with many students are either antagonistic or synergistic. Very few individuals involved with Nagumo are in a gray zone unless they absolutely do not care about what happens at the Advanced Nurturing High School or if their class will advance to the next level or not. If a certain student or group of students do not align themselves with Nagumo, his approach would be to have that student expelled. This has made many characters in the story wary of him, but even still, accomplishing many of the things that Nagumo has would be very hard for the average student. With his accomplishments and charisma, Nagumo is revered by many.
