Another month is coming to a close inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, and with it comes the departure of multiple valuable fish.

InAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, creatures such as bugs and fish are catchable on rotation in the different seasons and months. While there are a few expectations like the Fly that can be caught year-round, most need to be obtained within a certain time period before they disappear.

The month of May is just about to end, so there will be some fish that will not be able to be obtained again until perhaps months from now. Along with some of these fish being valuable to sell, if someone hasn’t yetdonated to Blathers and his museum, the opportunity to capture the creature again may not arise for quite some time. With all fish and bugs in the game, the rotation is different between Northern and Southern Hemispheres. When it comes to May, the Southern Hemisphere especially is losing quite a few fish.

Fish Departing the Northern Hemisphere after May

There are three fish that will be leaving the Northern Hemisphere in may, including twovery rare fish inAC:NH:

Golden Trout - Found in River Clifftops from 4 PM to 9 AM, sells for 15,000 bells.

Oarfish - Found in the Sea all day, sells for 9,000 bells.

Loach - Found in Rivers all day, sells for 400 bells.

The Golden Trout and Oarfish are both rare, so it’s possible that players haven’t yet snagged these elusive aquatic creatures. The Golden Trout is only found on clifftops, so with only a few days left in May, it could be wise to stock up on fish bait and spend some time on those clifftops to try to catch it.

Fish Departing the Southern Hemisphere after May

There are many fish leaving soon in June from the Southern Hemisphere. To capture all these fish with the least interruptions possible, theGold Fishing Rodis helpful as it is very durable. Players will want to snag these fish before they leave this month:
