A classic feature that returns toModern Warfare 3is the concept of map voting. For some, it may invigorate their love for democracy, as all players will be able to choose between 3 options. ConsideringModern Warfare 3brings back some of thebest maps inCall of Dutyhistory for the Modern Warfare franchise, it’s no surprise that the map voting feature would be a grand return, as players new and old can select their favorites to bring forth the battle in familiar territory.
4Faster Movement
Movement and mobility play a large part in modern gaming. Players are reasonably obsessed withmobility and fast movementso that they can combine their weapons and complement their playstyle with better ways to move around the map and confuse their enemies. There are many great mechanics, like the increase in strafe speed, the ability to reload cancel, and mantling faster.
Players have always found ways to enjoy movement, even if some players hate the way others play. Whether it’s drop shooting by going into prone, jumping around, or sliding across the floor,Modern Warfare 3allows for a more refined set of movements.
3Health Increase
150 HP Rather Than 100 HP
In most, if not all,Call of Dutygames, the health is usually around 100. As forModern Warfare 3, the health was increased to 150. This base health upgrade allows for a tad extra punch when it comes to staying in the fight. Players will have an extra set of health to help them regain their health, orbattle it out to try and remain the victor.
Whilst the slow health regeneration may frustrate players, the added health does help this mechanic to remain balanced. Players can expect gunfights to go on for just a tad longer, as increasing the player’s health by just half won’t completely change the game, but it does add some new spice to the way that players will shoot each other.
Zombies Mode

One way thatModern Warfare 3improves overModern Warfare 2is the inclusion of a zombies mode. This is the first Modern Warfare title from the originals to the reboots that has a zombies mode, which places it on a rather historical step forCall of Duty, considering that zombies have been seen as one of the most core aspects of the franchise ever sinceWorld at War.
Whilst thenew zombies mode inModern Warfare 3may not be to everyone’s taste, it certainly has things to enjoy. Players can’t appreciate the standard round-based maps that have been inCall of Dutytitles for years. Instead, the zombies mode inModern Warfare 3goes the open world, with a set of story missions and objectives.
2Classic Maps
16 Core Maps Upon Release
Interestingly, despiteModern Warfare 3(2023) being a reboot ofModern Warfare 3(2011), all the maps featured are actually fromModern Warfare 2(2009). Even if these maps are just remakes, the inclusion of classic maps marks a grand return for the franchise and one of the reasonsModern Warfare 3is better thanModern Warfare 2.
The bestModern Warfare 3maps are returning classics, with slight alterations to graphics and positioning, but they never stray from their original designs. It’s not a surprise that these maps return, considering just how beloved they are among theCall of Dutycommunity, andmore will return with every season.

No longer will players be losing their heads as they try and figure out the arsenal and gunsmith mechanics ofModern Warfare 2, asModern Warfare 3has done away with it all for something more enjoyable and simple. There’s beauty in simplicity, andModern Warfare 3does it well with its upgrade system. Players can easily find ways to unlock weapons, attachments, new perks, and killstreaks.
The joys of an upgrade system have been found withinCall of Dutyfor years, but it’s nice to seeModern Warfare 3embrace simplicity tomake things more funand accessible for hardcore and casual players alike.
