As part of The Haunting,Call of Dutyannounced a specialDiablo 4transmog weapon players can earn inWarzone, which can be transferred over to use inDiablo 4.To obtain The Butcher’s Meat Hook, players must own bothCall of DutyandDiablo 4, and have their Battle.net account linked to their Activision account. In the game, players can then drop into either Vondead or the night version of Al Mazrah inWarzoneto find, activate, and defend Altars of Lilith found on the map. Then, players need to enter the portal to the Butcher’s lair that spawns and defeat him. The item can take up to four days to appear in players’Diablo 4wardrobes and isonly compatible with Necromancer scythe weapons.Call of Dutyadds that players can link their accounts either before or after defeating The Butcher inWarzoneand the item will still be unlocked.
While this is a cool crossover betweenCall of DutyandDiablo 4,it would be even cooler if The Butcher’s Meat Hook also became a melee weapon to use inCall of Dutyeither as a standalone weapon or as a cosmetic blueprint for the Dual Kamas. Regardless, this neat little wrinkle within The Haunting event could open the door to more crossovers of a similar nature withother Blizzard franchises likeOverwatchorWarcraft, where players can earn cosmetics inCall of Dutythat transfer over to the other titles.
ThisCall of Dutycrossover comes just in time forDiablo 4’s Season of Blood. As forCall of Duty,Season 6 and The Haunting will concludeModern Warfare 2’s seasonal support asall eyes turn toModern Warfare 3, which is right around the corner and just wrapped up an open beta.
